If GW2 was thinking of Steam anytime soon, expect it to be done like ESO, where buying the game through Steam locks you to only purchasing through Steam. Since they could potentially have sales on gems, access to the gem exchange might be disabled. Other than that, GW2 would only look to Steam once the population starts dropping to an unsustainable level, or once the game is no longer selling. As for the rumors, it's always been a rumor.
