Arrow.9031
As much as i enjoy this game, i'm starting to think the older maps could use a touching up/ overhaul.. new dynamic events, maybe even throw in some Meta events for certain maps? Post your opinions and see if this gets some notice.
Eloc Freidon.5692
I like the direction for current events. I'd like more devs dedicated to that content. Just more reasons in the story to go back to previous maps is good.
Seteruss.4058
I don't know why but I like old maps more than new(both expansions), so thumbs up on that..
ProtoGunner.4953
It would be nice, graphically you notice that they are far behind the new maps and also the sense of scale is out of place (especially if you are on mounts). Everything seems to be a diorama.
Ardid.7203
From some other discussion about routes of development for GW2. > @"Ardid.7203" said: > **Lore and Gameplay meaningful expansion of old maps** > Thanks to the magics learned in Maguuma and Elona, now Tyrians are able to access new places magically hidden high the sky and deep underground on already known zones. The boundaries between old and new areas will be linked in fist place to the use of gliding and mounts, but there should be (much harder) ways to access the new places without expansions, to attract P4F players too. > > * People, for example, can access Isgarren castle in Kessex Hills, and from there, a whole net of floating structures interconnected with leylines over Kessex, inhabited by dangerous critters and the descendants of old explorers that were trapped there. > * The same net connects with Caledon Forest, where the leylines and floating branches reveal a new area which extends Morgan's Leap into Morgan's Dream, crossing into the Dream itself. > * The ground just below Rata Sum reveals to be full of outdated and discarded wild experiments and hazardous secret labs, and the players can discover the secret reason the Asura chose that place for their city to begin with. Below the surface, we find the maniacal workings of the Inquest to subdue and use gigantic destroyers to take control of Rata Sum resources and people. > * The lower levels under the Crown Pavillion reveals a route into the old catacombs under Divinity's Reach, which extend further down into an abyss full of animated skeletons and monsters, and in the end into Abbadon's Realm remains. > > The expansion will this way combine new and old assets to add replaying value to core maps, pushing extra lore and exploration, and giving early access to end game areas even to new characters, if they dare. sorudo.9054
repair kessex hills to it's original state, after so long you would expect most of it to be ether cleaned or rotten away.
Fenom.9457
I want current events in expansion maps. So far, every single one is in core maps, but guess what? Current events are in no place stated to be for all players. There is no obligation to keep it in maps accessible for F2P players, yet Anet is acting like they can’t do anything new in the jungle or desert. How about a Kralk based event in the highlands, oasis, and vabbi? Or Kralk can now brand from a distance, so we defend maps from incoming brand storms full of enemies. Firstly in maps like Istan, Kourna, sandswept, and desolation, but depending on how far he’s supposed to be able to do that, then S3 maps too. Every map has space somewhere or other for new events
Inculpatus cedo.9234
Wasn't Knight of the Thorn a 'Current Event'? That 'quest' took one to Heart of the Thorn (expansion) maps.
