Octovine south meta trolls failing on purpose...

Recommended Posts

As the title says trolls are pulling bombs in the opposite direction on purpose trying to fail the meta in the south lane. Maybe better pathing for the bombs could be implemented to prevent this. Pretty frustrating when you waste your time and a couple engis magnet pulling in the wrong way cause an entire map to fail.

**there is no fix that will stop this type of behaviour**,

apart from the spirit of the event, what actual rules is he/she breaking?

do you feel you have the right to stop somebody playing the game the way they want to play?

maybe we can introduce a kick feature to eject disruptive/disagreeable people from the zone

and maybe the afkers while we are at it. How about the good for nothing dead that just lay there

anyone not in an optimal meta build, or anyone not doing what you think is an except-able amount of dps,

or just the wrong thing and definitely, definitely the clueless.

using your words "pulling bombs in the opposite direction" has a purpose or it wouldn't be on the action bar

and we have all had an over achiever that keeps sending down bombs when you ask for a pause.

Report for grieving, they are deliberately trying to ruin others enjoyment of the game. Like leeching.

That does not necessarily follow. Other interpretations are that those doing the alleged grieving have not been caught in the act; or perhaps data is being gathered and assessed as we speak; or it's Anet's M.O. to take action in waves; or Anet has been acting on the situation and it's not been noticed.

_Edit: Removed overly snide addendum._

you are correct Greener it is hard to draw anything from a single source.

Why I did include the word **MAY**

It is still happening and has been happening for a long time in may different forms,

unwanted portals and consumables placements an

It has happened a few times to myself in that very meta even when HoT was current it is nothing new

but seems to be maps where there are not as many people to counter their miscreant behaviour that they are rewarded

(just so nobody else gets confused here when I used the words "they are rewarded" I do mean the people doing the grieving)

in no way do i feel this type of behaviour is acceptable

If you feel that you have been subjected grieving, do the only thing that you can do as a player, report it, suck it up, then move on

Send reports to Exploits@arena.net.

Include any details you can, to make it easy for ANet to catch them in the act. (It's hard to assess griefing just from chat and combat logs.) That includes as much as you can gather of:

* time, date

* /ip address of the map

* name of character, name of account

* screenshots or video clip

* a description of what makes this behavior objectionable.

****

Suggestion: don't feed the trolls. Posting frustration on Reddit, the forums, or in /map is exactly the sort of reaction that warms the hearts of griefers. For some, even the risk of suspension is worth watching the Whos of Whoville get annoyed by being [Grinched](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grinch) repeatedly.

Secondary suggestion: don't worry about convincing anyone whether this violates a rule or not. The point is moot. If ANet agrees that it's disruptive to other people's enjoyment of the game, the ToS/User Agreements are worded in such a way as to make it trivial for them to take whatever actions they deem fit. (And if they don't agree, then they are the target audience you need to convince, not any of the rest of us here on the forums).

****

tl;dr make it as easy as possible for ANet to find griefers and catch them in the act.

And give them as little satisfaction as possible in the meantime.
