Idea for changes to warrior rifle animations.

Recommended Posts

I recently noticed that when you use your rifle 2 (Aimed shot), your character model puts his rifle near his hip and then fires[https://imgur.com/b6UQCIv](https://imgur.com/b6UQCIv "https://imgur.com/b6UQCIv") but when he uses any other ability, he actually aims the shot [https://imgur.com/siN3Y7B](https://imgur.com/siN3Y7B "https://imgur.com/siN3Y7B") .

Isn't shooting from the him more inaccurate than aiming? On the other hand, volley (the third skill) uses the aiming animation, even though in my opinion a volley (firing fast) doesn't have great accuracy irl. That's why I suggest swapping the animations of volley and aimed shot because firing from the hip fits the rapid fire of the third skill more, it would look like the end scene from Scarface (say hello to my little friend). That way, the aimed shot will actually bg aimed and the volley will look cooler.

I would rather my character always shoulder's their rifle, regardless of how they're shooting, or where at the enemy they are shooting. Being in the armed forces in real life; being taught to always shoulder the rifle when firing, and always be in control of the rifle, seeing the character fire from the hip or hold the rifle one handed irritates me greatly.

>! As a side note "Volley" reminds me of the first step of the "Reaction to Effective Enemy Fire" battle drill, in which upon being fired at by the enemy you fire two to three rounds in the general direction of the enemy, shout "Contact", and get on your belt buckle. So volley is often the first skill I will open up with when engaging an enemy in GW2.

How do you feel about the Engineer Rifle “rocket jump”?

An animation swap would be nice.

Most warriors want some improvements to some of the skills as rifle has been a constantly outclassed weapon since shortly after beta. They took away the sniper feel of it [and gave it to deadeye]. Sad that warrior's second ranged weapon is not viable. I wonder how many more years we will be using longbow?

engieer's "rifle" seems more like it is trying to be a shotgun

any sort of rocket jump would be more likely to blow your legs off

Realism isn't a black and white thing. There's different levels. If something is unrealistic to the point where it's counter-intuitive then it can be immersion breaking, and just feel or look stupid. Simply asking for a slightly higher level of realism in a certain aspect isn't the same as asking for an entire game to change genre from a fantasy to a war simulator.

If you don't want any realism, for example, then why does GW2 even have weapons, why does it have dying, and bleeding? Those are all things that happen in real life, and to be truly disconnected from reality, those things, and many more things would have to be absent from GW2.

With the size of the blast radius that doesn't matter. Even if the liftoff doesn't blow off your legs the landing will destroy your knees.
