It's only obvious to people who play a lot of ATs or older players who were around during 5 man ques.

It's like this -> When you run a lot of ATs, you'll see realistic matches happening, where two teams choose their 5 players and go head to head with no slots open on their teams for random mole throws to join them. Even when a group is LFG'd & PUG'd with silver players, there is a distinct feeling with visual in-match affirmation that they are actually trying. Even if they're bad, you can tell they are trying. In ranked however, there are things happening that are too stupid to be real stupid. In fact, there are things happening so consistently that are so stupid, that it would actually require an advanced understanding of Conquest to be able to do. IE: Some Warrior is ALWAYS in the wrong spot the entire match, he loses every combat he engages nearly instantly with no resistance, and he often does things like "makes it look like he's going to cap home for you" but when everyone heads to mid, he just leaves home for absolutely no reason without capping it and goes to far to die randomly. Or IE: When your team starts a match and gets a 200 to 40 lead and then ALL OF A SUDDEN, your very dominant players turn from plat 1'ish rotational/combat mechanic veterans into silver 2 players who apparently forgot their key bindings and what class they were playing, and then begin exploding on contact in every combat engagement, until the opponent miraculously comes back for a 500 to 240 win or something like that. That is not how real comebacks look, it's nothing like that. It's one thing to "get a little lucky" on the initial split rotation and maybe surprise the enemy once with a couple combats you probably shouldn't have won, but for a team to clearly dominant the first 3 to 4 rotations mechanically into a 200 to 40 lead and then suddenly turn so bad that they are unable to hold even a single node or stay alive in combat for longer than 2s is just garbage win trade throwing. Again, you won't see anything like that happen in an AT even amongst LFG'd groups. Oh and don't forget how during ATs, there is never any DCs ever, or how in Unranked it's like 1/20 games you may see a DC once, but in ranked it happens in like 1/3 games or sometimes several games in a row, if you run into the same people. Got to wonder why that is eh?

The point is that if a player has much experience playing in environments where win trading mole throwing wasn't happening, it begins to get much easier to identify obvious win trading that may not be so obvious to people who weren't around in the 5 man que days and who don't often run ATs.
