Trick is to have them blow both uses as it has a decent size CD. Even if you can make them blow one, you have at least 2 ways to reveal them.

 

Ever heard of Lock On and Analyze (on utility googles)? If running scrapper (which I've seen more of lately) theres even a 3rd way to reveal, making it not matter if they are running shadow meld.

 

Catch them after they use at least 1 shadow meld and have at er.

How do you make them blow one shadow meld charge without using one of your reveals? If you use lock on and they use shadow meld. You have to wait 25s for Lock on CD. While they have another charge available to use. So then you use utility goggles and they use their second charge and go stealth again. So basically if youre playing holo and decide to waste one of your utilities to use Utility Goggles you still can't reveal a deadeye. So maybe scrapper can but lets be honest who plays scrapper? Ive not seen a single scrapper in ranked this season. You could be the only one. (oh and i hear Chaith plays it sometimes).

 

No deadeye is going to use Shadow meld just for the heck of it...so yeah it would be some trick to "make" a deadeye use shadow meld without an enemy using a reveal on them. You would need a team mate that also has reveal to use it on them and then thats a whole different story because now you're talking 2v1.

You can force them to blow their stealth abilities and make them need to use SM. Playing one in WvW for educational purposes, I can back this up, however it requires smart play.

I have no problems killing deadeyes on core guardian as long as I dont panic and don't waste my teleports and leap.

Alot of DE players are quite bad and dont make use of rifle 5 (kneel/rise)

Its quite common to notice that the DE is usually just stealthed in the same place, or a dodgedistance away from it due to not getting up after kneeling.

 

Obviously im speaking about ppl not USED to playing DE, most commonly seen in WvW or lower brackets of sPvP.

 

But its good to keep in mind, if they stealth just about the time you get there there is a chance that the pleb DE is just nearby spamming stealth.

Cleave away and you will be surprised how many hits you get in lul.
