What is Canach betting? (spoiler-heavy, a question on economy)

Glib attention-getting clickbaity title, but a question that stirs on a larger point.

Canach has spent several years on a work release program before wandering down to help out the Commander. Marjory and Kasmeer haven't been exactly able to keep up their detecting business. Taimi's a ward of the state. Roz is the lowest stratum of charr society. Rytlock's often been on the outs from his chain of command, and Braham is in a more socially secure position (having convinced a bunch of Norn to follow him is about as organized a society as Norn like to get). The Commander has been separated from the Pact if not formally Commander Emeritus and even if not, probably has still to file their death certificate and the retraction thereof.

And all these people have been involved in a practically private independent war against a god followed by Brandstorms everywhere for the last couple years to some degree or another.

Most of the groups they interacted with where desperate or destitute. So how much money could Canach have? And for that matter, the Commander? Has the Commander arranged for everyone to draw salary in some way or do they have to quickly fence Awakened relics anytime they're anywhere civilized and want to eat in a restaurant, or just relying on the kindness of others via effectively karma?

Or to put it another way - is Dragon Watch basically a bunch of heroic hobos or is the Commander and group in lore as wealthy as a bunch of Istan farmers?

Should we pretend your random sand shark or mordrem doesn't carry coins or workable gear on them in lore and that loot sharing is purely mechanical and not lore related in any way, then any gold accumulated for the Commander would either be from their early times, pre-personal story (some do start as noble humans after all), or during their career as members of an Order or the Pact. On top of rewards for taking on local threat bounties like Molten Alliance and Aetherblades, or later on the Order of Shadows' bounties, the Commander has probably been fairly rich since killing Zhaitan if not since joining an Order.

This, of course, would also be relevant to the biconics, who've done a lot of the same things. Kasmeer in particular, since she regained her nobility in Season 2, she likely regained any possessions lost from that particular event and now has a steady income thanks to the Krytan economy regardless of her deeds.

Do you think it likely that Kasmeer will engage in charitable beviour, donate to the poor, or even open an almshouse? Kasmeer always struck me as the person to look out for others.

I guess that the guild gets its money from the pact and other various government bodies as they can act with little to no public backlash and other political leanings (though this is a generous statement). I like to think of the guild as a public black-listed squad that can go anywhere and complete the mission with whatever means necessary (we failed one so far with some previous missions having a setback too). I want to say further that right now some people might look the other way when it comes to the expense part if their livelyhood is in danger from dragons that don't give a shit what form their food takes.
