Guild Wars 2 never update dx12 ?

GTA5 is has been estimated to have made more money than _any of single entertainment product in history_, so they can afford the best of the best of the best of the best, as well as afford to dedicated staff hours and resources to experimental rewrites of an entire game engine if they want to.

Anet is a comparatively small development studio. It's not tiny, but you are asking why they can't do something that is technically very complex and that they have stated will likely have a comparatively small impact, when _the single most lucrative game in the history of games_ can do it.

There is also that everyone not on Windows 10 would immediately lose access to the game if it went over to dx12, but that's another argument.

Guild Wars 2 works. Yes, FPS drops a bit sometimes, but it works and mostly works very well. It's a seven year old game, and it creaks a bit under the weight of newer maps and graphically intensive situations, but it works.

Personally, I think a little minimalism in terms of ambient animations and flashy effects would be more impactful than making nonessential staff redundant so they can employ additional people to rewrite the game engine for the sake of an extra 15fps.
