Hiki.9310
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember there was a time when we could watch previews of balance patch on twitch.
DanAlcedo.3281
Problem was, the Preview was always like 90 - 95% of the actual patch. (Or felt like it) For me, a Preview is around 5 - 10%. It created to much hype over nothing.
witcher.3197
But then we could give feedback and they don't want that.
pah.4931
They usually do previews when major changes are coming. This leads me to believe that major changes are, indeed, not coming.

Cicada.6298
I'd appreciate it. Anything is better than the whole bunch of nothing we've all gotten used to getting.
Master Ketsu.4569
Lack of transparency is honestly one of the biggest things that has been hurting GW2s bottom line. Silence does **not** create suspense, nor does it make content that does come feel better as a surprise. Silence implies that **nothing** is being worked on period. Silence says the game is dying. Nobody wants to invest or spend money on a game that might be dying. Silence is 100% no bueno. As for balance patch previews, the only thing silence says is that they aren't confident enough in their work to share it. Hopefully with the restructuring transparency is one aspect they decide to completely revisit because their current policy is legit killing the game. Silence can be good to create anticipation, sure -- but the culture of silence in GW2 that we've all gotten used to, isn't. Too much of it creates anxiety, and, when ultimately nothing actually happens, it creates anger. I'd feel much better with occasional statements like "sorry, we're super behind on other projects, so the PvP balance will be 3 weeks late" rather than waiting for a patch week after week with no news or communication. Eventually people will lose interest, and start playing less, before quitting completely.
