Overtuned Ranger PoF pet (Gazelle)

Idk why you are discussing pets. Pets are pretty much non-existent when the metagame is heavily dominated by overpowered scourges and spellbreakers. Ranger (just like most other builds atm) is a wasted slot on your team, that should be filled with scourge/spellbreaker/firebrand instead as they outperform ranger no matter how well the ranger plays.

"Rock Gazelle—Kick: Strikes from this skill have been increased from 2 to 5. Damage per strike has been reduced by 53%. Vulnerability per strike has been changed from 3 stacks for 6 seconds to 1 stack for 8 seconds."

Why would they do this? It was like an idle animation to begin with, now it's "How to Dance, vol 1" for the Gazelle.

 

It still has 130 range AAs....

I think most Ranger mains accept the nerf as 100% necessary, but the fact that they changed kick to stay in place even longer and didn't fix the ability of the Gazelle to hit a moving target (130-150 range and needing to stop moving to attack) at all means this pet now goes on the junk pile that consists of the other 53 pets that are useless for PvP.

The fact it hit for over 20k on the initial hit was a problem. As it is right now you can still get over a hit for over 10k.

Man I've been 1hit ko'd by this so many times that when I see a ranger pull this out I just leave the point. Glad it got nerfed, this pet is still strong and is meta for small hit box cc in place of pink moa. Even in pvp it's still not horrible because it has some pretty juicy cc.

 

So stupid how people whine about the overturned burst damage of 1 new cc oriented pet getting fixed while there are entire new elite specs that are totally trash and useless in every game mode.

Yes. The damage itself was fine. The bug that caused the 20k+ needed to be fixed and nothing else. But most players can't distinguish between bugfix and nerf.

The bugfix was fine. The nerf was overkill.

nope the pet hit for 20k on the initial hit

 

The bug was after getting downed the pet would proc the downed portion of the skill instantly deleting a player

 

To see people complaining about a the much needed damage nerf claiming it's over an 85% damage nerf is pretty funny.

1- use your endurance on the gazelle

2-many professions can block/replenish their hp pool to 100% while using stability

there are lot of ways to counter this you can try some on a 1v1 you'll see everything is easy to counter but you can't counter everything with a single build

Go use the pet on a golem if you doubt it though you might actually have to make a ranger first.

No it went from 5-6k to 2-3k.

 

20k was with a lot of damage modifiers, it wasn't the base damage.

 

Get your facts straight before you start laughing at people who are right.

The pet hit for 5-6k on the initial hit. Anything else required a critical hit with boons and damage modifiers.

 

For the record, it now hits 3k, which is about 2 auto attacks on Electric Wyvern, every 16 seconds. Its trash.
