Translation in Text

[suggestion] Has ANET ever considered offering automatic language translation in the text box?? There are foreign servers in other continents. It would be cool to be able to play and chat with people in Spain, Germany, or other countries. This would make GW2 truly a global community!! This can be accomplished by just setting your text to English (or whatever language you speak) in the "Settings." It would then automatically translate it to your language. Perhaps limiting it to Spanish, German, French and English would help make it a less complex program.

As someone who played Guild Wars 1, with a somewhat similar feature, I can safely say "No. This is not what you want." It's a nice idea, and a wonderful ideal, but in practice it simply doesn't work.

Other unsupported languages would still require moderators fully fluent in the language - one of a few reasons why such a thing is quoted as not going to happen for those ones

 

As for supported languages, it’s prob too much hassle to code for to work with existing tech. The UI is notoriously inflexible
