Thoughts on core GS guard in PvP after the patch?

Looks pretty bleak to me, with our access to quickness being removed and Lesser Symbol of Wrath immob going to 1 second on top of the other nerfs, it doesn't seem good. Granted I could be over reacting, but I've enjoyed playing my core guard for the past few years. :[

CG isn't going to be relevant. It relied heavily on initial burst and had little long term sustain. The upcoming patch pretty much guarantees you aren't going to be able to JI pop someone anymore so there's no point in playing core guard.

I'm still going to play Core Guardian in PvP.

But it's going to continue being a clown festival anyway, with Stealth, Evade, Barrier and CC remaining over-abundant.

Wait, someone actually still plays GS? It is dead on live anyway. It actually was not hit as hard as many other weapons for guardian and other classes. I suspect that we might see a DH power sPvP build emerge. The nerf to LoW makes core unusable. The virtue buff when using a virtue + big game hunter could potentially result in some big time damage. There was almost no touching of reg, VoR and purification is not hit as hard as most other heals. Also, mediation heal only lost 500 heal, while smite gained 1 additional condi removal. DH/valor/virtues without bow could potentially be fairly strong.

I sure do still play GS core, lol. It's a shame to hear it's going to be dead-dead though. Greatsword just feels really good to me (for the most part) and I played it to P1-P2 a while back. I'm going to be quite interested in seeing if a DH build without a bow emerges. I guess I'll have to wait and see, I really hope I don't have to put away the GS. :[
