Quoted for truth. Not saying I'm an amazing player, but the people who chew me out tend to not be that great either.

I'm not sure if you're misunderstanding or agreeing with OP. OP and I aren't asking for a winning steak. We're asking for matchmaking that gives closer to 50% win rates. I'm on a 5 match loss streak so far with a few smaller ones in between and it's pretty ridiculous when i was a solid 50%+ when I first started playing this season. That's TERRIBLE matchmaking. Even games that were only PVP based I've played in early access that have died after a month had better matching than this. Either players are misbehaving or the algorithm/placement system is just bork. My hunch is that too many people quit PVP and so they're lumping people together willy nilly. I've been grouped with and against the same set of people over and over again when i've queued multiple times in a row.

  3. Also, it's usually enough to just get 2 PVP achieves and then grab an open world one for dailies. Usually there's an easy one like miner/forager/lumberer/vista viewer. When I'm shooting for daily without anything else I just do that. But as far as your OP goes, I feel your pain. I made a post about being constantly put with "bad" players. I've been doing research and have found out that match manipulation between players is a thing. YOu're probably always on the intended "loser" side. I think they've gotten lax on their disciplining/policing ranked. Or they're placing people way too high after their placement matches, but given my research i believe it's the former and they just aren't being strict enough. They should perma ban accounts from PVP that are found doing match fixing. My understanding was even when they cared it was pretty lax enforcement (temporary "dishonor" whatever that means), which is actually REALLY stupid. Because when the game becomes unenjoyable to the 50-30% of people who are affecting by this, they quit and take their money that they would spend in the shop with them. I was planning on some purchases later this month but I'm holding off and am very close to rage quitting right now.

To be honest, I don't play games to be insulted or insult other people. See I wasn't calling any specific person trash, I was saying I keep getting paired with bad players. I think it's bad form to be directly negative to someone in a game that is intended to be social. I don't call my team mates noobs, etc in the chat, even when we're losing and screw his rank, it doesn't give him a right to be rude.

Well I was hoping to farm for legendary armor mats. I don't think my schedule really supports PVE raiding and I dont' think I have time to be super social, my life is chaotic but my play time tends to be bunched together in spurts and not necessarily at the same time. I kind of got in late to the game too on this season, so I'm afraid I don't have time to do other stuff and still play enough matches to at least complete the highest season chest. I was going to leave ascended shard farming for a season I wasn't late to.

  6. I don't call them scrubs in game, it's what I'm thinking ; ). And tbh, if you can't duel effectively at your skill level, then you kinda are. I'm not talking about killing every opponent 1v1. I'm talking about at least killing them half the time and if you outnumber, it goes fast. I'm just incredibly frustrated that the matchmaking is so bad my win rate has dipped significantly below 50%. I'd be having more fun if I wasn't constantly losing.

And no, they didn't DC. Only two of their players actually did anything. And they were just trolling.

  7. Matchmaking has been terrible. I keep on getting grouped with scrubs. I'm getting zerged and they still can't down the lower number of people that they're all fighting halfway across the map. Also, I'm like 90% certain there's some cheaters. When I queue, it says I can only queue single or double, not a full party but the amount of coordination I've been seeing on the other side of my matches feels frustrating.

Either the placement matches matched me too high by placing me at the bottom of gold tier or it keeps matching me with awful players and/or cheating opponents. I actually got grouped against the same exact group once that was showing ungodly coordination, and asked them how it feels to cheat and they flat out stopped playing and let us win. That made me really suspicious.

In any case, i'd like a 50% win rate, especially if I'm not placed in bronze tier. Obviously I'm not complete trash if I was placed at the bottom of gold after my placement matches. (and I did well in my placement matches. ~60% win rate)

  8. Seriously? I was super stoked when I heard Arenanet was starting a new MMO a year or so ago, even though I hadn't been on GW2 for a while, because I really like Arenanet. I bet tons of players would have come out of the woodwork to contribute if you asked for funding for your new project & the current development. And I bet tons of active players would have contributed as well if you just let them know that you were in dire straits.

Also, I'm super sad we lost Josh Foreman. Wasn't he the brain behind SAB? Like you guys NEVER should have fired him. I'm sad SAB will never get finished...

Also, losing the next MMO project may be a nail in the coffin of Arena net. Game companies need to innovate and push new content if they want their revenue to grow. Yes, it's painful when you're taking that initial development cost hit, but those costs are necessary for the long-term health of your company and the games you release.
