  1. Yeah I agree that it should just be removed at this point. It's still too big despite the hacks to add hay bales and jump pads. The objectives need to be moved closer together and the middle is just a waste of space for the amount of map it takes up.

I thought it could grow on me but I avoid it like the plague. I only enter it due to queues on the other maps or if we are unlucky enough to roll red.

  2. I'm glad so see other people mentioning the downsides of automatic upgrades. Trying to upgrade a borderland on NA mornings was a fun task prior to HoT. There were so many roaming fights to deal with first that it was hard to get to objectives and trigger the upgrades on time. Now there's less of a need to play defense since the objectives will upgrade with or with out you. I feel this also causes people to not care since they didn't have to invest their time to get that T3 keep.

I don't think boon support with DPS pressure is an issue, but aren't there better ways to address this? I'm assuming you are talking about spamming One With Nature for its boons. Instead of adding an initial cost to facets wouldn't it make more sense to add an energy cost to One With Nature. Another more direct option would be to increase the energy cost of certain hammer skills.

I'll repeat by saying that I don't think these changes are necessary due to the high availability of boon corruption. I also feel that if you start adding activation costs to facets you'll not only hurt the back-line DPS builds but the front-line support/condition builds as well.

  4. I would have to agree that higher tiers are better at zerging, but I've seen a lack of general WvW knowledge from higher tiers from both T1 host servers and guilds which transfered down.

    * Higher tier vets not knowing where to place defensive siege in TS. Also a lot of pugs wasting supply by dropping baby siege and siege where it can be easily cleared.

    * Higher tier commanders claiming to be vets placing siege on indestructible walls and not realizing it. Or the same people impressed by catas under the Veloka bridge.

    * Higher tier players not realizing all objectives can be soloed. And roamers which fight camp NPCs 1 at a time instead of using LOS to group them up.

    * Higher tier roamers running glassy gank builds which can't 1v1 and rely on numbers to win. Also a general reluctance to leave the safety of their "roaming" group to fight a single roamer.

The problem is you can't judge lower tiers by the linked servers any more, since linked servers are full of new players and transfers. I hardly recognise the majority of players on Sorrows Furnace. Host servers tend to sum up our skill based on our larger guilds, but most of these guilds are recent transfers.

  5. I wouldn't say Maguma has the best pugs. I feel like most tags give up quickly since Maguma's pugs want to spread out and attack from range all of the time. If a tag asks for a push most players start back peddling instead. This style of fighting works well when you outnumber everyone in T2, but fails in T1 since the enemy is willing to push with the proper builds and is much more organized.

  6. I'm not sure what would happen to GW2, but I would definitely leave the game. I only play games which offer coop or pvp and I only stick with a game long term if it has pvp.

For example, I enjoy playing Borderlands and Borderlands 2, but I will not replay the campaign to get max level or the best gear. There's no point in investing that much time when a game doesn't offer a good pvp mode to use it.

I will probably move on to one of the latest Battlefield games. Battlefield 2142 was my main game before GW2, and I played Starseige and Counterstrike before that.

    > actually the meta is full pirate sheep, that mean you are not even going to be able to get in melee range if not ultratanky, to play in front lines you need not less than 3k armor, that is really hard for a light armor ofc and even more harder if you consider that Reaper have no decent ranged weapons, you go melee or do nothing.

Maybe for front-line, but Reaper works great as a mid-line character. I seem to do fine without any toughness and about 30k health. There are plenty of ranged options to help recharge shroud. I use shouts and marks to recharge shroud then re-join the frontline. I also have Well of Suffering for ranged damage, but I usually save that for when I'm about to push.

I hope that the pirate ship meta doesn't last. I really enjoyed playing condition herald, but I don't see it working any time soon in the current meta. Reaper is my second favorite class and I want to give it some more time and see how it works out. Maybe I should just switch to my Guardian next since that class will always be effective in WvW :).

  8. If ArenaNet identifies a condition problem in WvW I think it could be address by adding more access to group condition clears. The problem is that self targeted condition clears become less effective in group play when you have multiple sources of condition damage. Hopefully, converting some of these skill/traits to also clear conditions on allies will not affect small-scale fights, but keep conditions under control in large-scale fights. The same logic could also be applied to sources of resistance.
