Ah! So we can stack Barrier higher and delay the decay by adding new Barriers. That's what I wanted to know, so mastering Barrier can be quite interesting.
Is there a chance we'll see Barrier decreasing slower than in Beta? Saw some videos and the decay seemed to be too fast.
-
Then the next question here: we don't have actual timers for Barrier but we know that it diminishes very quickly (5s?).
Let's say I have 3 skills applying Barrier: when I place them all at once Barrier will last for ~5sec. What if I cast them delayed?
Barrier 1 for 5000
Barrier 2 for 3000 3sec later
Barrier 3 for 1000 3 sec later
And let's say there is no damage - will I have a 9k Barrier for ~ 10 seconds or will every Barrier diminish itself? I find it a bit hard to understand.

And I thought there might have been another round of testing or an announcement. Just wanted to know by people who keep up with the game.

New races. Mounts was a big wish of mine and it just happened and I am very happy about that.

Necro. Was my first character back in Prophecies (Necro/Ele) and is still the class I am most into. After trying to change class to Mesmer and Revenant I finally came back to Necro. Don't know why, just love the class.

Make it 25 stacks each 4% so that 8-9 stacks is like baseline Poison now. 100% less healing could be critical but I don't know if that's even achievable (it most likely would be with builds tailored for that). WvW it would be too strong. Or just make it 10 stacks and 4-5% per stack for a maximum of 50%. I think it would work very well (if balanced right).

Yeah this sounds a bit more balanced than my suggestion.

That's my question though. Will the PoF "launch Patch have balancing fixes or not. I am not up to date with GW2 that's why I'm asking. :)

Title says it all. Do we know if there will be another big balance patch this week prior to PoF?

Agree! My wish as well. Although I doubt we'll get any new professions but only new specs. Ritualist Elite spec for Revenant / Guardian (?) maybe?

Well, I already have a 80 Mesmer and Elementalist, my Necro is stuck at 73 or so. I did not play for a long time and lost the "sympathy" for the characters, that's why I want to create a new one. I love the GW2 lore and want to experience it as well. I will start on Tuesday and see how far I come with usual playing (+10 hours a day until Friday). I really want to play as Scourge that's why I want to get to PoF as fast as I can. How do I unlock the new specs?

When will this most likely happen? Tuesday or Wednesday?

Yeah I was looking for the thread as well because I am interested in the topic. Did a mod delete it because threads like this are forbidden?

If you have a lvl 40 or 50 scroll from birthdays that will cut a lot of time off from your leveling. Depending on where you are at in your daily login rewards you could potentially get 9 tomes of knowledge. Running a Birthday XP Booster will speed things up a lot as well. Under the best circumstances you'll instantly jump to level 50, power level to level 71 with XP boosters, then finish it off with 9 tomes of knowledge.

Well, I have a level 20 booster, the level 80 booster etc. but that's something I don't wanna use. If I boost a character I don't feel any sympathy for it - might sound strange but that's how it is for me. Maybe I should have been clearer about it. I don't want to skip story and grind my way to 80, I want to "powerlevel" but without feeling nothing while I do it.

I just plan to return to GW2 with PoF (already bought it) and want to level a new character I feel attached to with it. Problem: I am visiting my family and can only start leveling on Tuesday morning. I still have vacations and a lot of free time. So is Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (until evening when PoF launches in Europe) enough time to level a new toon to 80? I am not going to not sleep to achieve it lol. Just want to hear if it's a realistic goal or it isn't.
What do you think?
(I own HoT as well but never played it. Going to play it when I am done with PoF)

Would that work though? Scourge is the only prof that can apply Barrier (to others) and therefore Scourge would be a must. Has ANet developed raids where specific profs are a must? (And I am not talking about "DPS must")

Do we know if there will be another balance patch next week?
-
Please please please remove the Thumbs Down (Up) option. The Elder Scrolls Online forum uses the same format and they have "Insightful", "Agree" and "Awesome" instead of Helpful / Thumbs Up / Down.
Otherwise the new forum is great.
-
I remember ANet writing a cryptic and interesting comment in Facebook some days ago where they said we shouldn't be worried because we haven't seen every feature of PoF yet. Could that mean there is more unannounced stuff we're getting at release?
-
Would a "healing" Barrier+Well Necro be so strange? Keep the big hits away with Barrier and heal your party up with Wells, Lifesteal or Regen.
-
I haven't played for a long time and plan to return and Scourge looks absolutely amazing. Why do you think it won't be good?
-
So what is the thing you can buy in Germany then? It doesn't look like a digital code...
-
Didn't they say the new LW season starts pretty quick after release? Could totally see them adding a raid with it.
-
I think Scourge will be fine as condi DPS and support. The AoE condi damage seems to be massive.
Barrier Question

How likely is it to reach the 50% HP cap though? I only have some beta videos as reference but it didn't seem likely by applying 2 or 3 Barriers to reach the cap.
Is there any indication in the group interface how much Barrier somebody has applied / left?
