  1. Hi Daniel! That's a great question. Maybe she needs to reach maturity before she can start laying. The time taken to do so may be thousands of years.

Perhaps part of this story is the idea that the dragons are searching for an evolutionary step that will take them from parthenogenesis to a form of reproduction akin to that with which we are familiar: matings between male and female in the bonds of love.

Aurene may be that next step. Remember, she's a hybrid.

    > The Elder Dragons have long been confirmed to not be allied, and that their minions will fight if they encounter one-another (rare as it is and not shown in-game except when under Subject Alpha's unifying command). They've also been confirmed to not have leaders (originally Primordus was thought - and asked if so - to be a leader of the Elder Dragons, this got debunked with a "they have no leader").

    > Jormag is confirmed "non-binary", or to use original terminology, genderless. Neither male nor female. And this extends to all Elder Dragons - even Kralkatorrik. For the sake of continuing the discussion, I will refer to them as "high dragons" so as to include the six Elder Dragons' bloodlines.

    >

    > All use of male or female pronouns for the Elder Dragons and their kin is effectively superfluous. The only "high dragons" (beyond Kralkatorrik's "mother" line) to use such would be Glint, Aurene, and Vlast (but even Vlast used such only one time for himself, iirc).

    >

    > Despite having a male voice actor, unless I'm forgotten an obscure line, Mordremoth never calls itself male nor do any mordrem. And the same goes for Zhaitan and Kralkatorrik. The only icebrood to call Jormag male are the former Svanir, who are misogynists and thus untrustworthy in this regard.

I am curious for your thoughts on Kralkatorrik's "Mother", Aurene's "Grandfather" and repeated reference to Kralk as "he". What are we to make of such things?

You've brought up examples such as these, then seemingly dismissed them as irrelevant. I think what we really need from you, Konig, is an explanation or theory that helps us understand why you feel objective facts should be reinterpreted.

Interesting. You know what? I think that Jormag is an air spirit, possibly the leader of some of the other dragons.

That would make Jormàg the leader of Primordus, Mordremoth, Kralkatorrik and Zaithan?

The speculation that Jormag is female may be worth looking into. What if Jormag is the parent of some of these other dragons? What if Jormag is Kralkatorrik's mother?

  4. My observations of and thoughts on the trailer are as follows:

    The elements are displayed

    1. The first scene is of a bio-diverse Tyria in which all of the elements are combined. The most prominent example of this life is an eagle (?), a creature aligned to _air_.

    2. The second scene depicts _fire_.

    3. The third scene depicts a kodan floating out to sea. All of the elements appear to be present, but the scene cuts to the horizon, so I'd hazard a guess that this scene is about _time_.

    4. The fourth scene depicts _earth_.

    5. The fifth scene depicts _water_.

    6. The sixth scene cuts back to air.

    7. The final scene invokes _ice_.

    Forms of death are displayed

    1. The first scene is of a bio-diverse Tyria in which all of the elements are combined, granting _life_.

    2. The second scene depicts _death by fire_.

    3. The third scene depicts _death by aging (time)_.

    4. The fourth scene is a little harder to place, although it probably refers to _death by other earthlings_.

    5. The fifth scene depicts _death by drowning (water)_.

    6. The fifth scene depicts death by _asphyxiation at high altitude (air)_.

    7. The final scene depicts some kind of defiance to death, some way of resisting it through Jormag.

Who is he addressing and what are the _trials_ to which he refers?

Remember, Aurene came back from the dead. Somehow, dragon-kind is tied up with the concept of death. Dragons hate mortals (a form of death). Kralkatorrik says that Elder Dragons fear nothing, not even _death_. There is something more to this than we presently accept or understand. Is Jormag offering the champion a way to save everyone _else_. Is he destined to win by the All? Destined to become the new god of water? Is Jormag offering him or her the opportunity to hold sway over an unclaimed element through which the champion can keep those he loves around him? Does each _corrupted_ minion somehow become bound to the champion and join them in the afterlife, or remain with him forever in this life? Or maybe in the new Tyria roles will be reversed? Maybe minions will appear normal and the champion will appear horribly deformed?

) about the "Bound by Blood" Magazine, I saw an interesting comment about Taimi. In the video they talked about the possibility that Bubbles might be an enormous threat so that Jormag wants to provide help and persuades us to join him to grant us help in return.

    >

    > That must be Bubbles because we already knew the names of all the other ED's. And here's what one comment under WP's video stated:

    >

    > > Abaddon was the god of water and secrets. His influence overran and claimed the Realm of Torment, and pieces of the Realm began to spill over into Tyria. The Chinese manuscript talks about Abaddon being beautiful once, and then he became dark and corrupted by something, presumably the Realm of Torment and his fight with Arachnia. After his fall, Kormir gave up the portfolio of water for an unknown reason, and it was later picked up by Lyssa for safekeeping. Why? And now we have talk about the water dragon being very much eldritch horror themed? I wonder if the water dragon became corrupted by the realm of torment, or by Adaddon's influence, or if the two are linked to Nightfall somehow. Selbbub, the dragon of water and secrets?

    >

    > Even though I doubt that an ED got "corrupted" like this, the comment made me think about the relation of water and secrets in the Guild Wars lore.

    >

    > So here's what I'm thinking: What if part of Bubbles magic is that everyone forgets information about him? Just like the Silence, for every Doctor Who fan out there. That would explain why we have so few details about him, just a few Canthan sailors told stories about strange things happening in the Unending Ocean. It would also fit thematically (deep water - bad sight - washing away stuff (like memories) - secret). Taimi wouldn't forget the name of an ED and I doubt she is lying to us - so it might be part of their (Bubble's) magic? So Sailors knew something happened but we never actually got a proof that it has something to do with an ED. Maybe just nobody is able to remember them or information about them (e.g. their name, appearance, whatever).

    > Finally this might fit the Cthulhu themed horror style the Devs mentioned in their announcement.

    > Just imagine fighting an enemy no one is able to remember - but everyone knows is there. Imagine story instances in which even we as the player don't know what happened because the screen gets black and our PC "teleported" to another location as soon as we are able "to see" again - just because the PC can't remember, too. Just imagine the ways one could portray this in game play. And maybe that's the reason, we might ending up joining Jormag? Maybe Bubbles is the threat they were warning about in the trailer? Maybe Bubbles is one of the "trials to come".

    > What are you guys thinking about this?

    >

    >

I think that you're right. The water sphere of magic is somehow hidden from terrestrial magicians. It's possible that the point where the air meets water, such as the horizon, has something to do with the fabric of reality. That is, this point of contact, this interface, may be one manifestation of the fabric. For terrestrial magicians, trying to penetrate the surface of the water involves trying to pierce the fabric of reality and this membranous veil is behind memory lapses, poor vision and the like.

    >

As long as the counters of individual spell-casters can't negate damage from incoming siege projectiles I'm pretty happy.

As long as the ability to shield siege weapons, such as catapults, from counter-siege fire remains difficult to achieve without team work - i.e. a network of spotters, voice comms etc - I'm happy with how things are.

    Renting works for me.

    >

    > The "sad" truth of WvW is that you need PoF to truly compete anyway. Its quite obvious that the mount is just another incentive to buy the game. And honestly... I think that is fine. GW f2p is just a taste of the game and HoT is very, very old now. Not that its impossible to play it without either, but you do get pigeonholed in your choices.

    >

    > Personally I would prefer it if instead of renting mounts, they added multi-seat mounts. Warclaw should be able to take 1 passenger.

I think that expanding the number of players able to use one mount would be an excellent expansion of tactical opportunities for WvW players. Next they just need to make siege truly neutral by implementing the ability for anyone to capture and move it; then they need to add mounted siege ballistas to mounts.

  8. Hi Sznurek.8791! I'm in full agreement with you. Simply having Aurene replace all of the Elder Dragons is boring. However, the big question is whether she even can and _why_ six Elder Dragons emerged in the first place? Look at all of the examples of paradigms embracing the idea of six, distinct colors, elements, threads, all of which suggest that separating, rather than combining, magic is the _safest_ way to practice it. I think that something is coming for the Commander. Maybe Aurene turns on us when the growing pains of assuming the mantle of Elder Dragon at such a young age cause her to viciously and rabidly destroy anything and everything that moves. Maybe something else? I don't think that Aurene is the _final_ answer, just another piece of the puzzle.

  9. I like your idea Loesh.4697. Maybe the _key_ to putting this all together is to understand how both Guardians and Aurene are _combinations_ of other forms of magic and so I can see why you would make a connection between them and the bloodstone, which is likely the artifact to which Kormir referred (assuming that she is talking about an artifact, rather than something more abstract) when she instructed us to _"Restore what has been broken_.
