I suspect the random Ascended drops highly correlate with the Diminishing Returns, when you don't play for a while you get really good rng on them whereas when you play a lot constantly you barely ever get something. I can't prove statistically that it works precisely this way, but DR is definitely a thing, which is also acknowledged in the Wiki. But it's not really clearly how it works precisely, but it always felt to me as if it strongly privileged casual activity over extended, long-time efforts, as so many things in this game.

  2. Renegade and the three other rev builds that will keep dominating the meta. Along with the token support bunker guard and burn DH here and there, that is literally all you need to play now. Revs and guards. Any other class is obsolete.

     

    Wow, chaining all your defensive cooldowns between two glint heals which give free fullheal, much skill. Such amaze.

    Are you blushing while lying at least? Honestly, if you put all rev mains in a huge sack and clubbed them until you don't hear a sound anymore you would never hit the wrong guy. Might also wanna add the guard advocates.

  4. Play some high DPS build, maybe even something memeworthy like Axe/Axe GS Beserker. If you want to still be survivable and play a proper meta spec just go with Zerk Power Herald. That way most fights should end, even though you might not win all of them. I'd say in ranked it's generally the better option to play high dps anyway, because people don't rotate fast enough and make too many mistakes to really abuse bunkers like in coordinated teams.

    Don't disturb people rose tinted nostalgia with actual facts about the gameplay back then.

     

    PvP has always had it's share of bullshit mechanics (beside a lot of very cool and skillbased ones, to be fair). At least Lich was Bullshit zapping people with AA spam in 2014 and is bullshit zapping people with AA spam in 2021, so we've gone full circle on that.

     

    Otherwise, I'd rather have the current meta improved than going back in time, despite all the fun I had on cele rifle.

Rev carries harder in high tier and definitely has to be nerfed, but that doesn't mean a condi build that shits out higher burst than any power spike build is good design when condi is supposed to be attrition based damage over time. Burn DH is just dumb, either you have a "get out of jail card" ready and it does not do much except denying the node, or you don't and you get absolutely deleted in seconds.

     

    The two main issues are that a) Permeating Wrath is a dumb trait promoting spamming all your shit on one point and then relying on passive procs to kill stuff and b) Trapper Rune gives waay to much value in the form of Superspeed and Stealth to a build that otherwise be fairly suicidal. Right now the build has some purpose because it denies excessive node camping by bunkers and counters a lot of res cheese, but again these are separate issues that need to be adressed.

  7. Or maybe just actually meaningfully nerf Revs for once. Thief is completely fine, DE might even be "sleeper" meta at this point since the mobility is closer to the old D/P meta thief now, it still hits like a garbage truck and punishing it has become very hard in an overall slow meta.

  8. Some people just start with the hackusation whenever they feel someone killed them faster than he is supposed to. The actual hacks I've seen were all mobility hacks (speed/port/fly), whereas some people will scream hacks basically whenever they got oneshot, which is usually just a semi-competent or competent player on a overperforming build. The amount of people that do it is probably not even that high, but individuals scream about it so regularly that it gets stuck. There is one Nec Main with a female Acc name on EU that is especially famous for it, it has become somewhat of a running gag because so many different people have posted hackusations from him on discord...

     

    Bots are a real issue, but it is so exclusively in the low divisions, and eventually should not stop you from climbing, since they are easy to kill and there is no reason why you would get more bots in your team than the other team does on average. Obviously it might happen in single matches, but overall you will still climb. Some P1/P2 dude even made a joke out of it to drop into Bronze on purpose and then climb back up with a dedicated bot farming build. In duo it should be even easier to do that.

     

  9. The last time we got it was in the reward chests for the Tournament of Legends (Top 16 according to the Wiki). I'd imagine if that returns you also have a shot at the finisher. Another ToL was originally announced for the Summer of 2020 but never took place for some reason.

    From what I've heard it was originally delayed for MotA, but that doesn't really explain why it never took place afterwards either.

  10. Both options are kind of bad honestly, the pre-Feb meta might have been more explosive and mechanically challenging, but it was extremely narrow. Holo had been forced out of it with the stability nerf and Scourge was kind of gone aswell. So it was basically just a bunch of Power Revs and DP thieves stealth- and/or portengaging people for oneshots and a quick snowball. The meta right now actually has a wider variety of viable classes and specs. The major issue with the February changes is that the nerf in sustain that should have followed the dps nerfs never really came for many builds. The TTK on the overall hp pools and even immunity frames isn't to high in most cases. There is just too many builds still shitting out sustain left and right without even using their healskill and that is what makes the meta dull in many cases.

They are both crap in their own way at this point. 2v2 / 3v3 are mostly comp wars that favour bunker shit and a few mechanics that can game the overtime feature (barrier), but the conquest meta is converging towards bunker aswell and on top of it you have to deal with rng matchmaking, leading towards games being decided by which team has the bigger feeders. LB is a meme in both modes aswell at this point, so I guess indifferent it is.
