Did this happen on the SEC on one of the alpine BLs? I got that problem too, and had to hit in melee range in order to attack.

That has nothing to do with defender advantage and everything to do with blob size. If you have an equal defender blob inside the objective, you're going to lose--because you most likely are going to be fighting siege as well as defender buffs.

Yep, because that equal defender blob are going to sit on mortars and arrow carts instead of coming out to fight. Or, if they do come out to fight open field, try to get people to follow them back into siege range so that the attackers can be sieged.

This is why I wp from a tower if there are only a few of us and there is a map blob attacking. We can't even defend a t3 tower. You can't do enough damage to the attackers - they just sustain through everything you can throw at them.

  3. When my client crashes, as it does infrequently, I just do the send error report and leave it at that. The reason is that I find the list of lines impossible to interpret.

However, that can be done, see https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/comment/1422718/#Comment_1422718

How can you pick the specific line in the crash dump that points to the problem (in this case, dll)?

This would be useful to me for the next time the client crashes - again, which it does sometimes but not often.

    > Sorry, I disagree. All core content can be completed without mounts. They are not important for current gameplay, unless you are talking about the later LS chapters. True, that mounts are a QoL improvement in core maps, but they aren't necessary.

Agreed. And you have to do a lot of the PoF story just to get the xp and mastery points required to 1. get more than one mount and 2. train those mounts into anything useful - including getting subsequent mounts. Point 2 being the exception for the beetle and the skyscale but the second one, in particular, would be a nightmare to get without some other mounts. It's not like the mounts and their masteries get handed out at the start of PoF.

  5. I see Reshade mentioned quite a bit here, normally in conjunction with another topic such as infusions etc being too glowy and the dx12 modification.

I tried the dx12 modification and saw no improvement. But I am running ReActif and Arcdps.

Is Reshade play nice with those two? Should I bother given that I had no noticeable impact from the dx12 interpreter? I have post-processing permanently turned off just to try and save my eyesight.

  6. I've been trying a few combinations of traits and weapons in the current, what seems to be back to, pirate ship meta. Using dual axes/GS I don't have range. On the range builds I have seen, and having been trying out, there is the GS/bow combo.

Is there a viable axe-axe/bow combo? I've gone back to playing my rev and scrapper in the meantime.

Some of us wp away before we get into combat so they don't get us as well. We call out for help, if ppl don't come we leave.

Post reset hours, the server matches for me haven't been able to have many people across four maps. We'd still have problems getting enough population across two maps. Other servers have also mentioned they have little coverage outside their main hours.

Conclusion: remove a map. If that results in long queues for all hours for some servers, but other opposing servers can get in, there's an obvious imbalance in numbers. And imbalances of player populations is the problem.

But I can't remember how to switch to that version (I know it can't be done but I can't find the option anywhere). I think it's the default if you use a phone to visit the forum though.

Ah, thank you. I only visit the forums on my computer. I was hunting all over for them in my profile.

  9. I have two main guilds. One is a PvE guild (we're on different servers) and do daily events together, like the daily strike mission, daily DRMs. If there is a daily dungeon a few of us get together and do that. We do guild missions on the same day and the same time each week, all PvE missions. The guild is super helpful, at least one person - as soon as they log in - are asking if anyone else needs help with anything. There's also normally someone putting a guild group together for tier 4 fractals, and so forth. There is an active Discord.

I have a WvW guild. We raid in WvW five times a week, at set times. There are guild builds, people who can help with working out your synergies, loads of chit-chat (except when it's the serious fighting times) and an active Discord, although we use teamspeak for voice. Occasionally when we've been short one or two people for a strike mission in the PvE guild I've asked if anyone wants to join from the WvW guild, but they pretty much have no overlap. We also do guild missions, but these are all WvW ones.

So it really depends on what you want from a guild. I enjoy PvE and I enjoy WvW so having a set guild for each interest is perfect for me. I haven't encountered a guild that puts the same amount of time into both sets of activities.

And that's part of the fun of being able to have more than one guild. \o/

  10. shift-R raptor

    shift-B springer (it's a bunny)

shift-W jackal (it looks like a wolf)

    shift-G griffon

shift-D skyscale (it is a dragon)

x is my rollerbeetle, as I set this to the default mount so I don't need another key combo

Only use the warclaw in WvW, so x in there.
