They didn't even add new rewards there except the 10 currency trident skin Actually that's not new either, it's been on the game for ages but was only available through the old pvp skins system from before they added the wardrobe system.
  3. Yes, the Hawk Trident being sold for 10 marks is the only new skin. The Trident skin sold by the merchants in Ebonhawke is actually the staff skin. While it's nice that they fixed that bug and added the skin to the game it's not great that they're selling it in an IBS episode rather than just adding it to the same vendor in the core game.

Or do you believe that having to alt-tab out to Discord every couple of seconds to send messages to people, copy responses, translate them in Google or DeepL, and type back your response, then come back to the game, is that a really good game experience in your opinion? It's awkward enough having to use an external translator, but that's at least doable if they're able to copy text from chat. Or do you prefer that people just use a 3rd party chat program like Discord, and just don't use the in game chat at all? Because we can do that, too, if that is your design decision. They won't be able to understand what goes on in map chat, but what the kitten. It's mostly a Barren's chat experience, anyway. > > They don't allow Copy and Paste to help avoid spam. No, that isn't the reason. You can cut, copy and paste _into_ the text entry field for the chat window. You can copy and paste when entering the guild message of the day. Heck, if you press the up and down cursor keys you can scroll through the message history and send any of them again. They just don't allow you to select and copy text _from_ the chat log or other text areas.

However, they repeatedly choose not to communicate with us so I can only assume they're OK with this situation. Perhaps the upcoming IBS plans are just as bad as some people are saying and so they're saying nothing to avoid having to admit just that. After all, someone who hangs around because they hope something better is coming is probably more likely to buy the next expansion than someone who stops playing right now.

Not sure how difficult it might be to implement, but they've done similar in the past with the halo, horns, and ancient novelties like the [Ellen Kiel buttons](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ellen_Kiel_Representation_Button_(rare)). Those sound like the kind of novelties I'd like!
  7. What do people think of the idea that, like Strike Missions, they'll wait until almost all the DRMs are in the game and then add the "real" rewards? Of course they'll also add more currencies then.

One of the Achievements for this Chapter is to open 10 Ebon Vanguard Supply Boxes. That strongly suggests that the Ebonhawk faction is coming in this chapter. If the faction is added then it's likely that the Fields of Ruin DRM will also be added. They did say they'd be adding content between releases after all. > The Icebrood Saga: Champions > > The Icebrood Saga: Champions is a multichapter Living World finale featuring new story, repeatable gameplay content, rewards, achievements, and masteries. 11. 21 hours left and it looks like people won't get T4 much less T5. I'm kinda happy, TBH maybe this will give ArenaNet a bit of a kick in the pants.

A bunch of graphics driver DLLs, DirectX, some Windows DLLs. I don't see anything unusual in your list of DLLs although a lot of them are pretty generic DLL's that _potentially_ can be used by AI software. Or spreadsheets. Or multimedia applications. This game has pretty much nothing to do with any "real" AI. Certainly not on the client side. When an event occurs, like you approaching an NPC, then the game can trigger some dialog and that dialogue can appear to be directed at your character. This is purely a scripted event. Dialogues being out of context is not a sign of intelligence at all, more likely a bug.

They may still turn it back into a Norn/Charr saga but this whole "oh no the world must untie-I mean unite-because the threats are threatening again!" turn isn't inspiring a lot of confidence.
  14. Thinking a little more I think this lack of interest illustrates a general problem with the reward systems in the game. Maybe people are saving for the axe but other than that the main thing to buy at the moment are Crystal Bloom Support Boxes. A Crystal Bloom Support Box costs 2 Support Marks, I'm going for the 10 I need for the achievement, so I just opened one and got about 40 materials out of it. Some Scales, Cloth and Leather. As a daily, you can currently get 1 Support Mark for making 3 donations of between 50 and 200 crafting mats to the Faction Vendor so it costs between 150 and 600 crafting mats to get 1 Support Mark. It costs between 300 and 1200 crafting mats to get the 2 you need for a single Crystal Bloom Support Box. Which will give you 40 or so materials back. Sure there's a fantastically tiny chance of getting something better, In this case a "Rare" drop for the Axe skin and a "Super Rare" drop chance of getting a Amalgamated Gemstone. Sure you can get the Support Marks in other ways but let's not forget that this donation is something that ArenaNet decided to put in there. They _thought_ this was a good idea. That this was _reasonable_. I mean, seriously, a "Super Rare" chance to get a crafting mat. That means a tiny fraction of a percent chance of getting one. Perhaps people have finally started to realise that these kind of Bonus Boxes are simply not worth the effort or cost.
  15. I know I won't be terrible crushed if I don't get the T5 rewards, but as @"Just a flesh wound.3589" says I'd guess people just aren't all that enthusiastic about repeatedly replaying the same 3 story instances for little reward.
  16. Through an Asura gate in the Central Transfer Chamber.
  17. > @"Vavume.8065" said: > I heard that this set will be upgraded in the future, that maybe a better reason to make them. Is that a better reason though? I mean, for one thing, we've had so many of these upgrade-able sets recently htat for me they've completely lost any value. For another thing, even if they can be upgraded it's quite likely that the upgraded version won't actually require you to craft these. I mean, the Illuminated Boreal Weapons weapons required the earlier Boreal Weapons as one of their components but the Charged Stormcaller ones didn't require the Stormcaller weapons. If anything the possibility that they'll bring out "better" versions in the future is a good reason to not craft these right now.
  18. I would guess it's because you can only earn them during this week's bonus event. Next week it'll be Ebon Vanguard Support Marks or something. No point in having them hang around forever in the wallet if they're a short term thing.
  19. Pretty poor stuff. I know they are going to be expanding this in the upcoming weeks but the initial release should have had more especially as it's been four months since the last LS release. At the moment there's very little worth playing here and not that much to be excited about. Maybe the next few weeks will turn it around and it'll become a decent episode but I'm not that hopeful. No new map, as expected. A brief story with three repeatable but otherwise pretty standard missions with a defense section, an escort or wave defense section and a boss section with a boss that is _still_ a HP sponge in both solo and party mode. A bunch of locked off masteries, presumably those will unlock in the upcoming weeks otherwise why have them there at all yet, they're hardly all that exciting. Two more weapon sets, the Volcanic Stormcaller weapons that, apparently, are rare drops and the Dragon Slayer weapons that cry out "we will have a sparklier version in the future!" They didn't even include a meta achievement but that will probably change once there's enough content. > From https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/november-17-2020/ > Join other players to train and equip the Order of the Crystal Bloom during the first global faction mobilization event. You’ll earn rewards for your efforts, and faction members can join your Dragon Response Missions to bolster your defenses and healing. Word is sure to spread, so be alert for other factions ready to join the cause. Disappointing that this means do the dragon missions regardless of whether the Crystal Bloom are there or not, do an LS4 meta and donate materials while a progress bar updates in the top right of the screen. Disappointing that the rewards are yet more bags of crafting materials and the same banners and other dull bric-a-brac we got from so many other "Bonus events". I do like the idea of choosing a faction to accompany you but at the moment it would be more accurate to say "You’ll earn rewards for your efforts, and faction members can join your Dragon Response Missions to repeatedly die to the destroyer's AoE." Very underwhelming.
  20. As I write this there's only been 8 votes so I think it's a bit too early to call it for griffon. :) It is my favourite mount though.

Anet should have either dived and stayed IN DEEP or stayed dry. If it were my choice, I would just avoid forum communications all together at this point if I was them. Game updates notifications and patches ... and that's about all. I think you've hit the nail right on the head there. They should have either committed to frank and frequent communication or else stayed quiet about their plans until they were ready to drop. I personally would prefer if they did the former but if they can't _consistently_ do it then it makes much more sense to do the latter. Given the last few months I think that, once again, they have decided to avoid the forums. Realistically, a quarterly roadmap is about the best we can expect.
