Lol, yeah, after I replied I saw the date on their post and was like ???

  2. The RTX Voice function from the RTX gpu's help delete background noises. So that could be used to help out for voice recording at home.

As a side note, my questions are simple. What are each of your employees PC internal components (brands, models) ... PC setups?

What do they each consider themselves as in-game. Based off the concepts of the community. EX: casual, elite, PvP'er ,WvW'er... Or what they consider themselves as (healer, tank etc)... Knowing full well Guild Wars 2 doesn't really run like that.

Actually, what do you all think of each other in-game wise? Ex: he's rather quiet in Real life but, in-game he's quite extrovert.

They did touch up on a fact , which even I have forgotten about.

    GM's

Even I, can't remember which MMOs I played that had GM'S. Was it RuneScape... ??? . Yeah, I don't remember but, GM's were a necessity and think they probably still are.

While these investigations are ongoing, we want to see if there are other opportunities for some short-term improvements.

    >

    > We’re planning to run some tests to see what performance gains we can get by reducing the total number of players on the map. The current target for the initial test is with EU reset on this Friday, July 10, where we’ll be temporarily reducing the map caps in WvW for both NA and EU by 21 (7 per team) and monitoring the impact on performance over the next week. The key feedback that we’ll need from all of you is to get a sense of how the maps feel with fewer players. We still want WvW to feel like WvW, and we realize that any reduction to player counts will have a negative impact on the overall gameplay experience. We will be weighing that negative impact against the positives of any performance improvements to determine if it makes sense to move forward with lower map caps beyond this initial test. If we do move forward with lower map caps, we will also be keeping a close eye on queue times and will increase the number of tiers as needed.

    >

    > This is not a long-term solution. Even if we find that reducing map caps leads to big performance improvements and the impact on gameplay is minimal, we will be continuing our investigations into performance with the plan of incrementally restoring map caps as improvements are made.

Would data compression help? I know it's different but kinda like how they went from video compression from h264 to h265 (1.7gb at 4k to 453mb at 4k both at 60fps)

H266 just got introduced and I think is half of h265.

So would engineering a even superior file compression software(than what is currently being used) help not just to mitigate the issue but speed up actual data transfer. Making communication quicker between the servers and clients? Increasing the time the cores or GPU are free to make more calculations.

What about a more controversial tactic. Why not separate the WvW mode from the actual game itself? Make it into it's own game engine optimized for that exact setup. This would help separate the load from the PVE/PvP servers right? Same thing could be done for PvP. Anything to reduce the load right?

    > And for everyone that is posting: please write only if you understand the difference between skill lag and fps-based lag, and if you tested the game with a basic ping <40

If "skill lag" is pressing a skill attack and it takes 3-5seconds to actually initiate, while the other two skills you had already activated are also lagging behind.

Than this occured in PVE as well. So it technically wouldn't be WvW specific. WvW would just make it easier to overload the network. I can play with 150-200ping and not experience this at times.

    Good point.

... Wow, your analysis and conclusion was actually very good. I enjoyed reading this. ?

Just make sure you have the right setup on chat. Sometimes you may change it and forget to swap back. "Say" and think "map" usually gets reply. Say makes it easier to see since it becomes a Bubble.

I actually talked to a random player one day when went what I thought was off the grid but, I survived the fall, lol. There was a small arena and they walked up to it as well and we just ended up chatting for about 1 hour.

... That would be sick, lol. Like let's go to WAR!!! *player dissapears* "ooooohhhhh, sssshhhhhiiiiitttttt!!!" Falls 20ft away... "Sum b@#$&" , lol.

But, yes, I approve of 2player... Heck what about raid team mounts ???

  8. https://massivelyop.com/2020/07/11/guild-wars-2-looks-for-short-term-wvw-performance-improvements/

For you guys to see what I'm talking about. They will reduce population in meantime.

So this is recording I finally got to capture after remembering to install the dx9 to dx12 wrapper mod. I went from 20/25fps to 70/90fps after installing the mod.

Doesn't it all go back to the fact, whether they want to admit it, Guild Wars 2's game engine needs some updating. Especially to match todays hardware.

I like that WvW finally got attention but, same problem is found on PvE.

What's your thoughts? If Anet did a Fundme/backers fund to help start the new game engine build. Would you help them?

What's your thoughts on their current mitigation for the problem?

  9. For those wondering, this Dx12 wrapper is awesome. Unlocks the vram usage unlike on dx9 and lets more info to be stored in the Ram sticks. So game will run smoother. make two folder, the dx9 and dx12 and you will see the difference. in fact, i deleted the old folder and kept the DX12 modded one. only thing is character selection screen has the icons with missing texture, that is about it.

    > >

    > > So your rig is able to hold solid fps in big zerg maps of like 50 + people spamming skills? If so then please share your specs.......it is very difficult to achieve high fps in populated demanding areas wvw for example, but the app looks like it helps to utilize more cores rather than being single heavy, thus gaining better performance. Pretty sure also that the main advantage is not your avg frame rate but your lowest fps drop will see increase.

    > > Have seen people reporting where they used to get 20-30 fps is now seeing 45-60

    > I run at full fps anywhere and at any time. I've got 64GB ram, an i9, a 2nd gen ssd and a 2080TI. Also, I want to note that most of the time I feel like the youtubers don't run the game nearly as well as I do.

Please, record using OBS or Shadowplay, to demonstrate this. while keeping your Graphic settings displayed.

  11. Build Template got released... and i didn't realize i needed it,lol.

Mounts were released... and i didn't realize i needed it XD.

i just casually play, i log on i roam around and fight stuff, fight world bosses. then log off.

What could improve it for me... hhmm, no level cap more interactive fights with monsters or people(think Doom 2016 or Nier:automata) like i want to feel/sense like my character is being beat up by the monster, i want the bosses or enemies to be able to grab/throw/slam my character physically and animated and if does happen that my fellow GW players could help me get released from the grip of said enemy(reminds me of spider queen) but, can you imagine the spider grabbing a fellow fighter and starting to wrap him with it legs with spider webs or about to chomp on our player character(with serious damage). probably increase the physics in the world... VR Support would be nice...

Actually , yeah, just give me Multicore/thread Optimization and VR Headset support, lol.

Thanks to the DX12 mod, i mostly have better hardware usage. Core and Thread count have gone up but, the Game engine is still Code limited.

Yes, it has improved but it could be better.

    1. Unlock the Limits on Core/Thread Usage in the Code

    2. VR Headset Support

    3. More physical interaction with enemies/players

    4. Realm ending boss, lol(kinda like the running man, mystery beast ,etc.)

    5. No level caps...(You upset the Balance young one, head my words)

    6. Do you still want to be a Hero?
