  1. The least valuable currency ever seen in the game. Nothing really to trade them for once you've done Illuminated weapons. Nothing to spend them on. Even the 32-slot bag only needs 40 shards. Thousands and thousands and THOUSANDS cluttering our bags.

Please, in the next patch, let's be able to vend 'em. Or swap 'em. Or convert 'em. Or craft something useful with 'em. SOMETHING!

    > to be fair given how 90% of the accounts have below 3k AP, the number of players affected, those close to reaching the cap in the first place, is very low. And the company is all about going with the "majority" these last months<

We do know however that the 15k AP daily cap has a big negative impact on veteran players [see the endless threads here] with a hard dropoff in incentivisation. Keeping long term players engaged should be a big focus for ArenaNet.

If all 'lost' APs are potentially available to all players via a personal daily cap - even those at the top of the leader board - then AP hunting becomes about completion for the whole playerbase, rather than those in from the beginning and lucky/ committed enough to have logged on for every (now lost) achievement.

It may still take me years to get my available ingame 4,000 AP. And I wouldn't get the 'missing' 5,000 AP for around 18 months of new dailies if they implemented that fix - so it's still down to me to commit and play.

  3. I began playing in late July 2014 - so 4 months after LW1 had finished - and have been an avid player since. I currently have a reasonable 32,600 AP - with 4,100 still achievable ingame according to GW2Efficiency.

Assuming that the highest current player (at 41,853) has all or almost all achievements, that puts the actual LS1/ 'other' deficit at around 5,000 AP. It's really not a small amount - and despite my devotion to the game, I have no way of capturing this in my own time. Ever. Despite almost six years of play.

One option could be for Arenanet to calculate the 'lost' AP of each player - and re-open daily achievements for each until that gap is filled . In my case it would take 71 weeks. Otherwise, that 5,000 AP gap is permanent for me and all other post LS1 players.

This could also help re-engage many veterans - particularly those who only did parts of LS1 - or joined the game afterwards.

[Edited to correct the length of time I've played]

  4. Just got a sparkly new Alienware machine and was SO excited about playing GW2. And like so many others, am stuck.

For me it's at around 254,660 files still to go. Or 25gb of download in. Every time it stalls here. Insanely maddening. I had unchecked QoS Packet Scheduler and made sure IPv6 was checked this time - so not that (for me)

  5. Is your bank overflowing with llamas? Maxxed out on your PVP legendary gear?

We've been stuck with the same season chest rewards for several years; reward tracks are tired - and it's a lonnnnng time since we had a serious goal to inspire people (that legendary back piece feels like an eternity ago).

So what would most inspire you to play more PVP next season? Or maybe come back? Or try for the first time?

  6. Am Armorsmith 500, and was tinkering with Discovery today to clear out the last few recipes.

Globs of Ectoplasm is showing 48(!) undiscovered items at 350+ though with no other ingredients flagged in my fairly extensive inventory. It's not linen, silk or gossamer patches (so not insignias I think) and I'm scratching my head about what these 48 recipes might be.

    Thoughts much appreciated.

  7. Zojja will finally escape from her enforced solitary confinement by Destiny's Edge, wrath incarnate for being kept in a darkened box for the past three years. The Commander and his gang will be put on trial - found guilty of, well, everything, and made to crawl naked for attonement through Divinity's Reach.

    PvP will not be fixed.

    New ingredients incoming it seems:

"_While you’re leveling your cooking skill, you’ll also graduate to a better class of tools and raw ingredients. Each instructor will help you obtain what you need, from a cutting-edge oven to high-quality meat and garden-fresh herbs._"

  9. As part of the questing for the legendary Vision, we get to read some field notes [Vision of Allies: Blish, in Kourna] which I read at the time as implying that Blish made a backup copy of himself - just prior to when we first encounter him and Gorrik. However reading it back, it could just mean he backed up his portal miniaturisation notes?

    _EXECUTE_DATALOG_PRINTOUT

Inquest activity at the Rata Primus installation will be put on hold for the foreseeable future. This is unfortunate, as I was just beginning to determine how my portal technology could be miniaturized for personal use.

**I backed up some data locally, but Gorrik insisted I create external fail-safe backups. That worked, of course, but it did not help that I had stored them all within Rata Primus itself. So when Rata Primus was overrun by Awakened and we were forced to evacuate, that complicated matters significantly. I am at the very least confident that my encryption algorithm cannot be broken without severely impacting the onboard data.**

And when the time came, I felt it more important to download Gorrik's scarab plague data and everything that existed regarding research into Kralkatorrik. Saving all civilization is perhaps more important than my portal technology. Also, I could probably replicate my findings and do so in a more performant manner starting once again from scratch.

  10. All three Requiems speak to the end of all things. That is, that the failure to defeat Kralk now heralds the apocalypse, the end of days for Tyria. Maybe that's the real takeaway here :'(

**Rytlock**: "Aurene was the only way to save Tyria.

She was supposed to kill the Crystal Dragon, absorb his magic, and—I don’t know. It’s not like we had better options. Every other plan ends with the annihilation of all existence.

Even if we somehow did manage to end Kralkatorrik without her, all that magic inside him—from Zhaitan, Mordremoth, and Balthazar…

    The boom wouldn’t be pretty.

All of my friends, my family—they’re going to die in this doomed world because I’m a failure."

**Zafirah**: "Maybe what I had for that short time between my lowest point and the end of all things was as good as it will ever get for me.

Or maybe the vision that saw me standing there at her side during the final battle against Kralkatorrik was meant as a warning for me stay away.

There is no solace in what lies ahead. "

**Caithe**: "Here, at the end, all I can think about is the beginning... The end has come. Without you, what hope does Tyria have? My duty now is to bear witness to the end of all things. To stand beside your shell as I wait for reality itself to crumble away."
