  1. Yes, this is not fun and many angry people in the forum and on reddit are bad for the game's damaged reputation. I have friends and guildies who went on a hiatus after the layoff drama, they just saw the unhappy posts about the new mount and decided to stay away from the game despite me desperately trying to convince them to come back... :astonished: This situation is not helping GW2 at all.

  2. > Have you deleted an old character to recreate it on another one?

Yeah, before we got megaservers I deleted all of my characters for a free server change, haha. Years ago I rerolled my Asura and Norn chars as Sylvari (I only play Sylvari now). I still delete old mains and random alts I don't use anymore. Birthday gifts are overrated, I honestly don't care much about them but this is an unpopular opinion. They shouldn't be tied to characters, that's just weird. Other MMOs do anniversary events anyone can participate and earn items, even brand new players. That's what I prefer. Anyway, I extremely rarely craft, I already have all my Ascended sets so I don't worry about losing maxed crafting. Everything I truly care about is account bound so I'm happy to delete my unused characters. :)

  3. Depends on what kind of player you are! Definitely not worth it for me. I've been playing since beta but I have zero Legendaries. Ascended stuff offer the same stats but they are a lot cheaper. I also never change my stats so I don't actually need Legendaries (you can change stats on them for free). I would never pay thousands of Gold for one item, that's crazy. I also find most Legendary designs too fancy/overcomplicated for my tastes. The good thing about Legendaries is that they are optional. :)

I do! :) I've been playing since beta but my oldest character is 2 because I delete them if I don't play with them anymore. I actually just deleted my old main Engi in March because I haven't touched it since PoF.

    > Prestigious items always hold a value and that value goes down as more people own it. Eternity? Everybody has it, which can make it less appealing. Personally I wouldn't get it because it's too popular. I want my characters to be different from others. I'd just be another Warrior with it, how lame is that.

That's okay, everyone's different. :) I'm a simple person, I use an item if I like the way it looks like, I don't care about its value and popularity.

I do! :D I'm a beta player so I have plenty of "rare items". But we're talking about pixels in a video game, they don't have actual value. If I enjoy an item it doesn't matter if 10 or 10million people have it, that won't stop me enjoying it!

    > I personally miss the challenge of hero points being champs in PoF. HoT was far more hardcore and it has seasoned me to be able to solo many of them without much issue on a variety of classes. I personally like the fact they are champs. For most people, requires them to group up, which SHOULD be how you are supposed to do them, but PoF took that away. Sad, really.

I totally agree! I can actually solo MOST HoT HPs with my Firebrand but I play the MMO genre because I really enjoy joining a squad and do it with others, that's a lot more fun than the borefest PoF ones. If I wanted to solo, I'd play single-player games.

  7. _"I'm curious to know how you pick which classes to keep?"_

I enjoy pressing many buttons so I keep anything that has many skills (Ele, Engi, Firebrand, Necro/Reaper isn't bad either because Shroud gives 5 extra skills and I like the survivability). I don't like professions with a low amount of skills (Warrior, Thief).

_"How do you choose which one to main?"_

I main the one I enjoy the most (Firebrand since PoF, I used to main a core kit Engi before that).

  8. 25% movement speed for 1 hour! A food that isn't overpriced like the [Writ of Masterful Speed](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Writ_of_Masterful_Speed "Writ of Masterful Speed"). I would prefer a 25% movement speed Enrichment but I guess that will never happen (I've been asking for years). And yes, I know we have mounts but I do meta events often and being stuck in combat with basic speed is annoying.

  9. Totally! :D I'm old, I've been playing this genre since 2002! I still remember sitting in Prontera, Ragnarok Online and the game had this chat room feature so I often only logged on to chat and didn't actually do anything productive! I do that in GW2 too, especially since they nerfed my playground (Istan) lol. Nowadays I either sit in Caledon Forest and encourage newbies to ask me anything (which leads to making new friends most of the time!) or just hide at a remote part of Mistlock and talk to my guildies. :)

    >

    > What you are saying is a fact. But voice chat in the game would help the new players who do not use it, giving them the chance to become hardcore one day. And hey... if quiet and text chat i your thing... there will be 100% an option to not listen to the voice chat if it gets implemented.

I already have the option to not listen to it, that wasn't the point. The point was that even I have voice chat installed. They are popular, would people leave them for an in-game voice chat? What if the in-game one doesn't live up to people's expectations so it ends up as a waste of money?

  12. Yes, I've done it on 6 characters. I enjoy it because it's fun and relaxing (plus I get some extra Keys which is nice).

There's one thing I dislike though, when they lock PoIs and other map completion stuff behind meta events. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan of open world but when I want to explore a map I don't wanna interrupt the journey by waiting for a meta to start... It ruins the pace.
