Best 1v1 Ranged Class for WVW?

I like roaming wvw and picking up 1v1 fights, whats a good ranged class for this?

The "problem" with the dh will be that even if its decent at range, its strongest in melee when its standing on its own traps. Which coincidentally is fairly easily countered in 1v1.

If you divide the "ranged" into all three categories of "engage at range", "fight at range" and "finish at range", it is definitely Ranger/Soulbeast and DeadEye from my experience. Other professions usually get close® and switch to melee after engaging (Dragonhunter traps, Hammer Revs etc.).

Deadeye is too inflexible. Except dmg he can't do much. If you meet someone who know his class (and DE) you have little chance.

 

Choose Ranger. Both are range classes, but the title asks for the best.
