Players are still going to stack to fight doors and to make sure they face enemies half their number during their playtime. But, it would be nice for them to finally just admit, that since 31 months later no work has been done on it, that it isn't ever gonna happen. **Players stacking, and transferring to avoid the stack, are gem sales, and they are never going to give that up.**

No where near the level that the PvE fashion warriors spend on Gems. Transfers is the most, and that is only around re-link time.

The population is lower, so the total is lower than the total of those who play PvE exclusively, but individually, how would you know? Also how would you know that they make more off transfers than just regular gemstore cosmetics from WvW players? Most mass transfers happen to medium servers which are 500 gems. That's pretty cheap compared to a lot of gemstore stuff. On the other hand, things like outfit bundles, black lion chest exclusive items, mount select items, etc usually cost way more, and WvW players buy those too.

It's been said before: That may be true but it is also irrelevant. It isn't important what is more or less profitable if they are both (potentially-) profitable (or if they can overlap into a greater good, you know, like an MMO being an MMO is its attraction). Until proven otherwise or by any logical conclusion WvW is profitable, certainly potentially profitable, to warrant more than token attention or milking yourself out the backdoor. I highly doubt that it is the market that is keeping Anet from giving WvW due attention and far more so a question of internal will, interest and competence.

The main thing that the market affects is that the lack of competition lets nothing be almost enough (note: not "almost nothing be enough", while also possibly true, a different point made). Also, people tend to look at who spends in very sweeping terms, I'd be more inclined to think that people who spend real money are people who are invested enough in their accounts to see value in putting money into them and PvE's overall profitability makes both overly casual and overly active PvE players less likely spenders than socially active PvX'ers. While we as mere players can't know for sure, I highly doubt that even the current direction overall is taken because it is profitable and more so that they are just riding out the waves, doing what they prefer and honing skills for future projects at other companies and in other genres. I've spoken about it at length before, no need to dive into the depths of it again. Click/search if keen.

Yeah I doubt we'll ever see a version of world restructuring/alliances we were told about, since a main goal was population balancing. Balanced populations = less gem sales.

I'm pretty sure one of the suits or shareholders figured out this would negatively impact gem sales and killed the idea, then the devs 'forgot' to tell us about it.

We may see some form of world restructuring that allows them to keep or even improve gem sales from transfers
