waxx.3619
I love this game. I want to see it succeed even more. Please bring this game to steam it will do greatly for playerbase. Steam singlehandedly saved titanfall 2 it now has more players than it had on lunch. Same thing for Rainbow 6 siege. ESO and FFXIV are constantly top performers sales wise over there. And this game is better than both of those two games. Please Anet release this game on steam. Largest PC players base in the world is on there yet they probably never even had an exposure to this game simply because it's not on Steam. Inculpatus cedo.9234
Guild Wars is on Steam. Why isn't it the highest performer?

Inculpatus cedo.9234
Would that matter for initial sales? Just saying...just because it's on Steam does not guarantee sales, or players. Regardless, we just had this discussion a couple of weeks ago. https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/107568/likelihood-of-gw2-coming-to-steam/p1

Plus the game on steam has to compete with 2009 games, which look much prettier/exciting than Guild Wars 1. Guild Wars 1 was released on Steam in April 2009 with Trilogy, Nightfall and Factions, then Eye of the North was released in October 2010, all at a substantial price cut compared to their release. Curiously, in Q2 2009 (release on Steam) Guild Wars reported a sizable bump in revenue going from 3 million in Q1 2009 to 4 million in Q2 2009. QoQ going on Steam did benefit Arenanet Yes we did have this discussion, but Guild Wars 1 wasn't included.
Metasynaptic.1093
Valve takes a 30% cut from sales on Steam. Are you prepared to wear a 30% bump in gem prices through steam?
Inculpatus cedo.9234
Ah, then an 8-year old game (Guild Wars 2) would not do especially well on Steam.

Guild Wars 2 hasn't got any updates in 8 years? Weird. Dragon Bash was released this week.
Algreg.3629
Thank you for informing the business people at Anet/NCSoft about this... steam you speak of. I am sure they will be excited about this great opportunity and evaluate the possibilities, something they certainly did not consider before.
