ideas for engineer

hello Anet,

 

would like to ask-suggest some improvements and fixes on engi traits-skills:

 

inventions line:

can Automated Medical Response trait have a lower cd? 60? 90s?

can Bunker Down be fixed for what it concern Shrapnel trait (cripple-bleeding with explosion)

 

explosion line

can we fix all skills considered explosions with Shrapnel trait?

it's understandable and fine that smoke bomb, auto smoke bomb despenser, glue bomb, as mortar kit fields (so from 2nd to 5th pulse don't trigger at all) but so many skills or dont trigger the trait at all or they trigger only bleeding (aim-rocket - bunker down - throw mine and so on)

 

toss elixirs (toolbelt)

would be useful and very nice (for f2p players, for utility in general, for support and other stuff in groups-parties) that the toss elixirs would be aoe around the engineer (even of course with new radius consideration - 180-240-300-etc and new cooldowns)

toss would become interesting in groups

 

can sword skill radiant arc if traited with crystal configuration: zephyr benefit from that trait too?

that would give some "chase" and mobility utility

 

those are considerations and it would be nice if, not a polemic post

That would limit utility instead. Most of the elixirs are "non-critical" where you toss them on yourself anyway, but some vastly gain utility by being ranged. Best examples would be stealth and moa elixir being used offensively, where you for example can toss stealth elixir on someone downed as an enemy is trying to stomp them, or in the same manner toss a moa at people ressing and severly hamper their ability to counter CC with stunbreakers/stab etc.

 

If you're only thinking about PvE, well I reject the idea of turning every class into simplistic carboncopy dps machines where you just have to spam buttons to dump everything on yourself.

The list of explosives that are not treated like an explosive is very long. Some lean towards it by the tooltip, others literally explode with an animation. Getting the entire mess sorted is a long-term wish of us. So far the developers did not feel the urge to do it, yet. They sometimes change one unrelated skill's nature to be an explosive, like the Scrapper's Electro Whirl which has literally no connection to explosions at all. Last report I did was about the Rocket Kick, which literally says in its tooltip "Use your Rocket Boots to do an **explosive kick** ...". Still, great idea of yours. Absolutely agree with you!

Our (Scrapper) Gyros already turned into wells, which pretty much work as you suggest. It worked out in terms of making the skills easier to use and groups easier to benefit from them. But the class turns slowly into a button-masher. I agree with @"Dawdler.8521" at this point. Devolving the Engineer into a warrior cosplay should not be the solution.
