Legendary Weapon Cosmetic Aura

I have a specific question regarding the legendary weapon Auras. If I were to acquire a legendary weapon, would I be able to keep the visual effect that comes with it if I was to change the skin? In particular, I am referring to the legendary weapons Bolt and Incinerator. The skins (in my personal opinion) look hideous but the cosmetic auras they apply after being drawn look amazing. As a fire/lightning weaver, I am sure the appeal to me is obvious. E.g., If I was to purchase Bolt from another player and change the skin, would I lose the lightning Aura it applies after it is drawn?

no u will not it will disable any legendary aura or effects if u skin the legendary. u will however keep the function of changing stats and removing upgrades. u couldve easily tested this out without any issues.

That brings up an interesting thought, what if there were "Legendary Infusions" that mimicked the appearance of legendary weapon effects? Something that would require you to, say... salvage a Legendary Weapon to get? That would preserve its rarity and yield a really cool fashion item!

The visual effects for a legendary are all one 'package'. There is no way to have the effects without the skins, or the skin without the effects.

 

But it's something players ask for frequently, so maybe one day Anet will make it possible.
