That place has been in the game since long before they even announced End of Dragons. Actually, it has probably been around since even before they announced Path of Fire. It's a sort of special spot in the map that was originally meant to be exclusive (if i remember correctly, Anet even tried to sell a pass to teleport there in the gemstore, but nobody bought it since there is no reason whatsoever to go there othere than to enjoy the scenery), but now can be reached with the Skyscale. So no, i don't believe it's an easter egg or anything of the sort.

That circular 'stamp' on the rock is a signature or maker's mark for one of the artists. I'm not sure who it is but it's hidden in difficult to access places in a few different maps.

The rest of the markings on the rock look like jotun carvings which are found in lots of places. Apparently they're something to do with astronomy but the meaning is lost to everyone (especially the jotun). There's scholars in various places trying to understand them.

As for the cherry trees I'm expecting a lot of them in EoD and they're definitely associated with Asia and therefore with Cantha, but I'm not sure if that's their meaning here or if they're just pretty trees to brighten up a special spot in an otherwise fairly bleak map.

Interesting. They are very specific trees. Even in the art of EoD, they are highlighted. But, it may have been a graphic test on Bitterfrost.
