Thief Elite Skill Improvised: Enhanced Basilisk Venom

Yea, make it 2sec or 2 stack with 1 sec per stack. This skill need to give more value to thief to justify it as an "Elite skill".

Ofcourse, it is unblockable attack but 1.5 sec kinda short time. Especially for thief who want to position themself for Backstab.

It had higher numbers before and deemed too powerful given it can be shared. At one point it had two strikes , 1 second each. Once Venomshare made baseline the duration went to 1.5 seconds 1 strike.

It's a pretty trash elite compared to a lot of elites in the game, but nobody is willing to admit it, and it's the best elite thief has.

 

Instead of buffing durations and stacks, if it were made similar to the utility venoms (instant cast), it could be less trashy.

It's a 1 second stun on a class which can do combos pretty quickly, i don't think its bad at all. I will agree that all our elites are quite lack luster, and basi would have made more sense as a utility.

DE have a longer stun which isn't an Elite Skill... The fact here is the Share factor.

I agree, if they could make basilisk venom insta cast, it would open up new/additional combos in our aresenal.

 

 

Maybe its a little bit of a stretch, maybe a lingering buff after a successful hit of basi, “basilisk’s gaze” your attacks after successfully landing basi will make your attacks unblockable for 2 secs

Most people who take Basilisk Venom don't use it for re-positioning. Usually when you backstab you're already in position. They often pop it when they are going in for a backstab so they can chunk the person twice with a back attack before they can get away. That, or to get past a guardian's bs constant access to aegis.

 

It used to be a lot better back when the thief had multiple uses of it instead of venom sharing it. But the Venom share made it much stronger for raids instead of PvP.

Do not forget as well that just prior to making venomshare baseline, unblockable was added to BV.

Just because something is "meta", does not mean it's amazing or not in need of a "buff". Thief innately have a shitshow set of elites.

 

Therefore, it's obvious you select the best possible one...which just happens to be the least worst of them all. It's been the same way for over 5 years.

The ability to land, let's say a 10k backstab while someone is blocking in a given window of a few seconds is more then enough for this to be an elite.

 

It's already being shared to 4 other people.
