Zoltreez.6435
weakness is a 50% chance to deal 50% less dmg... so bassicaly its just a 25% dmg reduction that only last for a few seconds.... and its realy rare on skills allot of times needs to be traited and lots of the times on situational skills... if you constantly lose fights because weakness im not sure you should pvp then..... Also necro does not have Protection only Weakness... and event hat needs to be traited.... as a grandmaster trait....
Redg.9807
Incorrect, Weakness also override critical damage so it's more than 25% damage reduction for power builds. Morwath.9817
I would rather see weakness affecting condi damage and/or ignore resistance.

Weakness also reduces crits -- any glancing blow cannot do crit damage. So weakness is super effective against classes like thieves and warriors who benefit massively from crits. Also, the fact is, weakness is fundamentally different in its functionality from damage reduction -- you're specifically reducing one person's damage output, not reducing damage input. A person with weakness can change targets, but protection cannot transfer easily.
xDudisx.5914
I think there should be less condition variety, but I don't agree with removing weakness. I would rather see torment converted to bleeding first.
Crius.5487
I think weakness is an important part of the game. It has roles in both PvP and WvW. If weakness also reduced the condition damage of players currently affected by it then things might change completely in PvP.

A person with weakness can change targets, but protection cannot transfer easily. And invocation power revenant. 1 Condition destroys the 40% crit chance gained from the GM trait Roiling Mists. Always look at the bring side of life, that "1 Condition" could be over 9000 stacks of Torment/Confusion/Burning...
Azure The Heartless.3261
Keep weakness in. It also nerfs evasion, so its good for applying pressure. Just because there is a buff that applies a stat to you does not mean there shouldnt be a condi to do the inverse. What? Necros have great access to Weakness spam thru boon corruption (Might). And don't forget the reduction to endurance regeneration is deadly on its own right. Pair weakness with cripple and chill and you have a sitting duck ready to be roasted inside your wells or shades. Also, it's the other way around. Weakness duration from boon corruption is too high that it's normal to see more than 10s of weakness. Of course you can always cleanse it but people should people cleanse damaging conditions or supporting conditions like this one? But then again, power builds still find a way to kill stuff even with weakness and protection flying around. Just shows how bad the power creep is with the previous 2 expansions. Weakness generated from weapon skills and traits are shorter (6s highest). IMO it should affect condition damage, duration from boon corruption should be lowered a lot, and of course a huge nerf on power creep (which is a pipe dream). I've always wondered why Anet buffed Vulnerability so it affects condition damage but didn't make any changes to weakness. I assume it's because they only look at PvE. Simply removing Weakness without nerfing power creep is a bad idea.
Sorem.9157
Condition Damage builts only need Condition Damage to be effective Power Based builds need Power, Precision, Ferocity and awareness of Weakness. I wonder why Condi is dominant though. I've always thought weakness was frecken broken, idk why nobody ever complained about it.

Razor.6392
Weakness should just be lower endurance regeneration, perhaps weaker critical damage.

You are forgetting that power attacks have a base damage too that is derived from your weapon strength. All classes and weapons do power damage baseline. However if you want to condi damage you must invest in stats.

However if you want to condi damage you must invest in stats. > I have never seen a direct damage build that doesn't need to invest in stats to deal damage. Direct damage dealer even need to invest in three stats compared to just 1 for condition damage dealer. Also there is much more stuff that further reduces direct damage. Toughness, protection, weakness, various old traits pre-HoT that only affect direct damage (this actually goes both ways increase and decrease), not to mention that all invuls I can think of let you still take condition damage. Reaper Alim.4176
My opinion on weakness. Is that is should affect both power and condition damage. There is so much power hate in this game. Yet so few condi hate outside a few classes. Which also promotes condition damage superiority in GW2.
sephiroth.4217
It's not a bad idea to help bring power builds back up to the potential that conditions have reached now.... There's too much counter play for power builds if you know what you're doing such as stacking protection/weakness and some other effects.

Which also promotes condition damage superiority in GW2. condi clear, resistance, positioning... if you nerf condi dmg with weakness on top of that.. you'll just make them completely useless... their simply needs to be a reduction in overall condi dmg application with some classes. as for nerfing weakness in a power aspect ... the only non-power builds that are strong in meta are condi mirage as a point contester and scourge which will be nerfed ... everything else is bunker support or full power since condi thief was nerfed down this automatically made fresh air ele a little better. there is no "power hate" in this game... if you nerf weakness you'll see power builds simply over the top .. weakness keeps high power + high evasion builds in check like acro thief , even though they can remove weakness quite easily but it allows a buffer between getting completely over-pressured by specific classes that have high defense and high damage output like acro thief

Quite the opposite in fact. Second, so your defense for condi acquiring the same strengths, without having the same weakness as power builds. Are bunker builds? Ithilwen.1529
Weakness is a main function of Mirage Mirrors. If it were actually highly useful, you'd see mirrors regularly in PvP. You don't. This is a strong sign that weakness really is not very effective.
