Please add in additional ways to earn ascended shards of glory during the off-month between seasons.

Or increase the ascended shards awarded for repeats of Byzantium as the ratio per pip during repeat is incredibly low.

Nah, the system is fine. It's a legendary armor you're grinding for, it should take a while.

Time gates are gonna gate you on time.... its in their name. You think thats bad? You only need to burst activity every 2 months to hammer out the final chest. WvW players have to spend upwards of 16 hours EVERY week (basically a whole weekend) just to max out Skirmish tickets for 16 weeks to get a full set of armor, and the gift items to needed to upgrade them. Going more then that per week doesn't yield any progress. So about 256 hours total, on a routine schedule, with a minimum wait time of 4 months

 

Rolling over Byzantium is roughly 25 matches at 50% win/loss, maybe 5-10 minutes per match. If we assume you can marathon it, 33 roll overs (plus the other chests) in one season gets you enough shards. 70 hours in roll over, plus the initial 16 hours to get to Byzantium. Obviously more if you break per season. League tickets are gated to a minimum of 2 seasons. Realistically, if include the 2 season minimum, and split the difference, close to 56 hours per season (if I'm scaling it right). So if you were really dedicated, you could get it in 3 months via PvP for half the play time of a WvW set.... with the option to break for LS chapters mid or between seasons.

 

Also.... your "off month" is 2 weeks. And you don't have to suffer through bad match ups that could last up to 4 weeks or more. So tell me again about how terrible your PvP time gate is. :P
