Cyrin.1035 Posted December 5, 2017 Share Posted December 5, 2017 It's mostly a matter of opinion and taste. Some may love the Reforged Warhound or the Resplendent Avian and gladly pay 2k gems. Others may have no interest in them. Those who love them might still consider that price high. So what is a 2000 gem mount skin in your eyes? For me, I'd want something made of dragon crystals for my Griffon or see-through and ethereal for my Skimmer. I would like not to see total reskin, but just variant of those specific mounts. * Armored * Slightly Icy Theme * Slightly Fire Theme * Seasonal Theme * Enemy Theme * Etc... But always the same kind of mount ( no dragons, mecha, etc... ). To me the game is already ruined, though slightly, by little effects like * Shiny flashy dyes * Comical Gliders * Annoying Sounds * Minis ( though i do have the armore scarlet ). * Some outfits Or else, i wouldn't disagree with the stuff ANET would put in the future, if the decided also to give us more options to disable/lower details on other players. I think I will be disappointed, perhaps, in Wintersday offerings, if the holiday 'Mountfit' is 2000 Gems. Maybe, if we are fortunate, it will be a discounted bundle. Personally, I'd rather have the chance for a (low-cost) Wintersday skin, in the Adoption, or BL Chest, but I'm sure I'm in the vast minority. It would look weird on the jumping animation of the Raptor and even the uphill situation. On the Jackal you can have a cruising look when you're just going forward. Jumping makes a little hover thing below. When you do the sand teleport/dash, the spectre would dash ahead with a flame burst from the exhaust in the back as you go forward some distance. Dreamy Lu.3865 Posted December 5, 2017 Share Posted December 5, 2017 I am happy to contribute financially to the game, what I do regularly, but for me, an amount of 2000 gems for one unique item, that is a purely "nice to look" thing, goes over my limits of what I find acceptable. Let's say so: If over time, I would achieve to build up this amount ingame, using gold, and that the skin would be so important to me, then maybe I would go it (whereas, I doubt it). But I would in no way pay 25 euro - as in about 1/3 of the price of the game itself - for one unique mount skin. That being said, I fully agree with OP: This remains a personal matter to decide if it is OK or not for self.
