Archon Iberu

So during the story we killed Archon Iberu. Why did we not burn or otherwise destroy his corpse, it seems foolish that we left a champion grade corpse in the vicinity of Jokos palace. Now we have to deal with a much stronger legendary Iberu in Palawadan.

Pretty much this. We were in a hurry and only needed him out the way for a short time. We'd probably have tied him up somewhere if that wasn't more effort than killing him.

Old Mister Johnson had troubles of his own

He met an Awakened Champ that wouldn't leave his home;

Ninety seven pieces of the Awakened man is all that they found

 

But Iberu came back the very next day,

Iberu came back, we thought he was a goner

But Iberu came back; he just couldn't stay away.

I did not feel any feel of urgency during that mission. Besides destroying a corpse probably only takes a few moments for a group of skilled heroes. If you ask me it is just one more.

 

Just like the way the Dhuum fight in the new raid instance makes no logical sense to me.

Honestly, why don't the Sunspears burn Awakened bodies in general? A lot of dialogue talks about certain Awakened returning after a while.

 

Of course, the reason in general is "explaining event mechanics with lore" (a wholly unneeded thing but does work towards immersion), but Iberu doesn't fall into that particular category.

The bigger question is...does Joko need the actual body of the person he's Awakening to re-Awaken them if they've been killed as an Awakened.

Honestly just smashing their skull would do the trick. I recall hearing a NPC talking that the brain needs to be intact for awakening to work.
