Lasiurus.4067 Posted April 15, 2018 Share Posted April 15, 2018 ONE SHOT Reaper, lot's of fight in WvW with my DPS/Zerk Necromancer. I prefer Reaper over Scourge, the DPS/Burst is insane. This build is not meta and not the best & quite selfish, but very fun to play. The build is explained at 13:00. Hope you will enjoy it ! Yet, ranged/aoe specs like this and soul beast and many others perform much better but are deemed acceptable. I knew reaper had near 1 shot potential from PvP but I was not aware the skills doing that damage were such large ground targeted AOE(I do not play reaper myself). CoR was still a 1200 range, 5 target, 4s recast(was 2s to start with) one shot ability for most of it's life. Not top fighting server and sometimes the whole zerg is just running past you and you can burst a few ppl. That would never happen against servers like deso or vabbi. The server I'm fighting are : Baruch Bay & Gandara for 60% of the Video Elona & Riverside for 40% of the Video. Thanks for the visuals. This build is a bit broken compared to Ele. I main Weaver, I nearly never played Reaper, had the same DPS & way more survive : 10k HP more, A Shroud/Full Life Bar free. CoR was a one shot ability because of the +50% bonus damage trait which had a CD and could be wasted on skills like auto attack. That was removed like a year ago, if not longer COR doesn’t crit for more than about 12k zerk vs zero max range. Well actually it can’t even do that now thanks to the most recent nerfs. But yeah I might have to spend 30 minutes learning what abilities do what(some day) so I can go farm WvW t1 for a while. CoR still does well, and the other skills on hammer were left untouched and they too should be adjusted actually. Do you actually solely rely on CoR this whole time? But oh yeah the 1200 range, 5 target, 4s recast skill doesn't one shot anymore, when the former king of aoes was on a 30s cooldown, requiring players to stay in a circle for 9s, give me a break. How oblivious are you to not realize that was a typo and it was supposed to read as “Zerk vs Zerk”? Sorry I don’t even mean to take personal shots, but really... You act like reaper doesn’t already work in t1 zergs for people that are semi-decent at it lol. @"DemonSeed.3528" I don’t even use hammer. It is lower damage than other rev weapons by a good margin. It’s just easy to use. My original complaint is how something this busted stays live and hammer rev which is in reality pretty kitten gets nerfed repeatedly. Once again, I don’t use hammer. Hammer is worse than the other options once you actually are good with rev, or playing against people that know how to use all of their abilities. The OP showed a video where most of his enemies were standing in dragon banner fire(20 targets 15s duration 2000 distance), while he went in for the spinaroonie(soul spiral 5 targets, 3s duration, 30s cooldown, damage increased 40% nov 2017, 2 years after release) A lot of that damage is from the dragon banner, that's why I said he's kinda cheating with the numbers to call this a one shot build. Here's the hammer long line of nerfs. March 27, 2018 - Reduced damage of the second impact by 14% in WvW only. Reduced damage of the third impact by 22% in WvW only. February 09, 2016 - Fixed an issue that prevented multiple players from being able to hit the same target simultaneously when using this skill. January 26, 2016 - The recharge of this skill has been increased from 2 seconds to 4 seconds. Enemies are now able to be struck by this ability only once every 0.5 seconds. December 15, 2015 - Updated visual effects to accurately match the combat range. This ability will no longer hit more than the maximum number of targets (5). The cascade will additionally cease its progression if it hits the maximum number of targets. I'm used to play glass canon staff weaver, I feel so much more confortable & tanky with Reaper & Shroud, for the same DPS. Extra Life Bar. But Melee instead or Range, & way less CC. XenesisII.1540 Posted April 16, 2018 Share Posted April 16, 2018 Yeah I'm not saying they're not viable, or that they don't have decent damage, they were the mid range damage meta for most of HoT for a reason and the 40% damage boost to spiral is nice. It's just not a one shot build which I think is misleading. Staff weaver don't do the same burst and probably damage, but then again they're at max range mostly. Lastly.. damnit cello I start playing staff weaver because of you and now you go to reaper lol, maybe I'll break the necro out of retirement soon. If you feel more tanky with switching from weaver to reaper.... try that hated scourge :D in power variant is nice bomber... and safer then reaper... most of reapers i see die on way to enemy zerg... thats not viable for group... you need sustain for more pushes then one :D From my experience reaper is better in smaller group max 10 players... with support around... atleast one supp fb .. Denial about what? O.o Reaper can only bring DPS to the table. Scourge can bring other stuff. I don't think anyone is denying Reaper's damage...
