Makes no sense to do. The whole purpose of this is promoting the bubble tea and not the anniversary.

Also people please stop posting how it didn’t work for you. Literally every 2nd comment is the very same explaining how you‘ve been trying for hours and it didn’t work. What do you expect to happen if you qq on this thread? Someone should close this thread.

Linking an album in the first, doesn't use html on this board (I think). Like so:

As usual, don't believe everything people write. As soon as I saw the reference to a "Two people from my guild were banned for using the keys" thread on reddit I suspected a hoax. Danikat.8537 made a very good post 2 hours ago about what may have happened. An attempt to scare others and make them stop trying, so that the poster has a better chance of getting his facebook linked seems most likely to me :)

I don't know why they even promo that on the launcher when most of us can't even get the rewards

Actually, it makes Kung Fu Tea look bad much more than Anet. Anet isn't the one paralyzed by the demand. In fact, the Anet devs are probably looking at this and looking at KFT and thinking, "Man, there but for the grace of Zinn we go." I can only imagine the awkward conversation in KFT's board room this coming Tuesday morning; it will probably start with a question from the CEO to their marketing and IT heads...

"So tell me: when you came up with this idea to promote our brand by linking us with Guild Wars 2, did it ever occur to you that Guild Wars 2 has millions of players all over the world, and how many of those players would be trying to log into our tiny hamster wheel app over the long weekend?"

Seriously, "We didn't anticipate the demand" is the absolute worst excuse for internet failures. This isn't on Anet; it's on KFT for not being prepared for what they were getting into.

Well, it's weekend and that the promotion started on saturday is a debacle in itself. Tomorrow is national labor day in the US, so don't expect that they're going to solve the problems by then. Since the app was apparently developed by a third-party-developer probably will make it worse. We can probably be happy of they solve the problems at the end of the week, but it almost certainly won't get solved any sooner.

I think, more likely, the KFT honchos will be looking to popdeem; it's popdeem's app that's not working.

Do not feel you are missing anything .... it is not working anyways.

Update from Chris Cleary on accounts that have been banned for using the promotion code for the Heroic Edition:

>To my knowledge, we are only closing the newly created promotion heroic edition accounts created by those that are heavily abusing the promotion to do so.

Best news all weekend or at least to me.

Yeah glad they are cracking down on people abusing it.

Edit: Another update from Chris in the same reddit thread:

>Feel free to give the codes (heroic edition or outfit) out to whomever you want! We're only closing the new accounts being created by players who are trying to abuse the promotion to create a bunch of new heroic edition accounts.

I haven't found this mentioned yet but is the "Log in with Facebook" option sufficient to trigger the connected account status? Because it IS showing as the Facebook account being connected on the 'Connect Social Media' accounts tab, but it is not showing me anything special under my profile page.

Thank god, an official statement. So much for goldsellers making tens of thousands of accounts and destroying GW2, the economy and even the beer in your fridge. Seems ANet was prepared for this, else they would not have closed the offending newly created accounts during the weekend.

Also the people claiming to "have been banned for using the code" seem to have forgotten that they heavily abused the system and used the codes on lots of newly created game accounts. Don't trust the poor "I am so innocent but I got banned" people. If I ever get a code (app still won't let me) I will use it on the account I made for my mom to look around in the game without any fear of getting banned. Like any person with common sense would.
