I hope not, i just got killing badge in 8 out of 10 matches with average of 2 death (many times it's just 0 death...0 death). THe mechanic is already good in general but it's just lacking reward right now

So in saying that, Deadeye is useless 99.99% of the time. Great!

This is a Fantasy game, not a real-life past game.

Nothing is safe from the concept of Immersion.

If they were making the rifles in this game for immersion's sake, they would base them on rifles that we of this age know... Pretty sure it has nothing to do with immersion.

I'm pretty sure it would break the fantasy immersion if thieves were running around with Gatling-type autocannons. Hence the design of the rifles in the game. The point is people don't get immersed in reality, they get immersed in fantasy games. Fact is, Longbow projectiles have an arc and therefore can travel further if you are firing downwards from a height. Big deal.

You are talking about a skin and not functionality?

of course its a skin...well unless you manage to spam TRB with it, then it kinda fits

Lmao, out of anything, you guys have to bring out Ranger's trash LB to talk about.

Why not bring out the hot candy which is Firebrand 50k dps?

Need grandmaster trait that trade off so much damage (predator onslaught) just to pierce.

Dps is trash too. Tested on raid golem by myself with realistic buff at 1000+ range, dps is around 14k. If enemy goes closer, dps becomes 12k or less.

Oh, did I mention that if you grab the pierce trait instead of Predator Onslaught, your dps drop to 12k~10k.

Utter garbage range weapon in PVE.

No utility like self might/ fury/ quickness, unlike deadeye mark f1 f2 and P/P which can instantly get all the boons in 2 seconds.

Gl doing damage in open world with no boons on you when using LB, that dps is laughable.

Seriously go play that trash LB and play a P/P Deadeye and say LB is good again.

I don't think you understand how percentages work.

Except in real life around that same era, Rifles had much more power than long bows, significantly easier to use, required less physical strength, and required less training. Like the crossbow, they began to make the Longbow obsolete.

Back in 19th century, rifle doesn't hit long range (actually alot shorter than arrows), easily explode on itself and damage the user.

A trained Bowman can shoot further, and attach fire or poison on the arrows to make them more deadly.

The advantage of using Rifle back then is even farmers/ slaves can learn how to use them , so they're used as a tossed away soldiers to use quantity to overwhelms the enemies to cover up their lack of functionality.

I dueled my boy Stawk yesterday, and we tested out his 1500 range Long Bow, and my Rifle Kneel skills in obsidian sanctum. It is absolutely absurd to create a tool tip stating that the rifle is 1500 range, yet fails to reach the same range as a ranger's Long bow, that supposedly has 1500 range as well. 1500 range is a unit of measurement. 1500 should remain 1500 regardless of class, weapon, or trait. (Unless traited for extra range)

If you count the arrow bounce, yes.

Granted, they were using smooth bore which made them not accurate, they became very prevalent though because of the ease of use and less training time. I need to look into longbow use, but I don't think they were used as much when firearms came into being.

They were slower to use, and more expensive, but significantly easier to use, could produce much more power and range, and required far less strength to use than a long bow. Which... if you ever used a longbow.... you'd know you couldn't hold a drawn arrow like they do in the movies for more than ten seconds.

An interesting side fact I found out, longbows really died out of use because they used up most of the wood that was required to make them making them expensive to make.

The fuck... Well I don't know the exact practice they used... so I guess they burned an entire tree trunk on a long bow. My only assumption to that one is the process of making a quarter staff. Which you can only get four out of a length of a tree trunk. Which is used for pole arms dowels, and axe shafts.

The same wood was also used for boats too which is why the wood disappeared so quick.
