Knighthonor.4061
How do you do this? What's the build and rotation for doing this? Can somebody teach me this skillset?
TorQ.7041
You make a deadeye. Pick the trait to stealth on dodge with a rifle. Pick shadow arts as another trait. The last trait u want is trickery for intiative. And take shadow meld as the elite skill. Now you can just dodge with rifle and gain stealth. U could also take the heal skill that gives stealth and blinding powder. With all those skills up and dodge roll. U have perma stealth.
Sephylon.4938
Adding to the above, have endurance regen food. Adventurer runes also help to keep your endurance up for dodges. Otherwise leap or blast finisher+smoke field=stealth
saerni.2584
You can also in a non Deadeye build use D/P and leap finisher combos to achieve the same effect for more effort. The Daredevil can use a bounding dodge in smoke fields to gain stealth so you can be fairly invisible that way. A core thief will take the most effort but still possible a few different ways. Same combo requirements but might need a few utilities. Blinding Powder is a blast finisher and in smoke field that will give a lot of stealth before you even leap combo. Michael Conrad.6704
"Death's Retreat is basically the Infiltrator's Arrow of this build when it comes to mobility, but that's just one aspect of it. In combat this serves as a spammable condition cleanse or even combo tool for stealth access when used in a smoke field. We recommend that you set up a bind for "about face" (Options ⇒ Control Options ⇒ Movement). This makes it easier to teleport forward with this skill using the following sequence: about face ⇒ Death's Retreat ⇒ about face." This is excerpted from a build in Meta Build. How exactly does this contribute to Stealth ?

How exactly does this contribute to Stealth ? Metabattle does not say that it contributes to stealth. The keybind refers to the mobility aspect of death's retreat. Btw.: Please don't necropost! This thread is from 2018 and outdated. The game has seen a lot of updates since then. E.g. you can not perma stealth on dodge anymore.

This thread is from 2018 and outdated. The game has seen a lot of updates since then. E.g. you can not perma stealth on dodge anymore. True about necro, but it also does say about the stealth in the part he quoted: "(...)or even combo tool for stealth access when used in a smoke field." @"Michael Conrad.6704" this skill is a leap combo finisher, so when you use it inside/through a "smoke field", you gain stealth. Some details about which finishers do what in specific combo fields: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Combo#Combo_effects How to know if the skill is a "combo finisher: whatever"? Hover over a skill button and it's included in the details, usually near the bottom.

How exactly does this contribute to Stealth ? Death's Retreat is a Leap Finisher, you can use it just like the Black Powder + Heartseeker combo. Try this: Kneel, drop Sniper's Cover, immediately stand up and do Death's Retreat through the smoke wall. (This is inefficient in WvW/SPvP, because Death's Retreat costs 6 init there; in that case you'd be much better off swapping weapons and using Heartseeker or Cluster Bomb with Sniper's Cover.)
