WvW and PvP, a question each

With WvW do you get anything if your server wins the weekly match against the other servers?

and if you go afk in PvP ranked after a while? (say if you were losing by 300) is there any penalty?

I can answer the pvp one. first of all it is very rude to afk in any point in time of the match. there will be a penalty if your team decides to report you as an idle player.

No personal reward in WvW, and don't afk in PvP - that's just bad form. If you plan to afk do so in PvE.

 

The penalty is dishonor, meaning you are not allowed to play PvP for a significant amount of time. Get enough reports from enough credible sources and you might be looking at an account lockdown of 3 months or more, where you can't play the game at all.

No rewards if your server wins its matchup. The only thing that happens as a result of winning a matchup is that the winning server moves up a tier for the new matchup (and likewise, the losing server will move down a tier).

There is a tiny for winning in WvW in the form of the bonus chests which used to be decent since it's was like getting two rank up chest at the same time but then at some point ANet nerfed them. The majority of the rewards for winning are already given out as you play in the form of additional pips.

Do everyone a favour and penalty or not do not afk in pvp. It's an extremely childish response to falling behind, and not only makes winning impossible but also you throw away the opportunity for personal achievement. Plus you piss everyone off. If you plan to do this, at least play only with a group that knows you and knows you'll bail on them.

do not afk in sPvP matches under any case. none of us like that.

if all of us report you for idle player, about a few times like that, you could have been banned from future matches or worse.

for wvw, do you attend those times when your server win? if not, you get nothing. if you attend, you get extra pips and it's going through reward chests faster.
