Do Staff Members Even Check Reports ?

i have a Question for all the staff members ....... do you guys/girls even check Reports that we send ? like in PvP I dont know how manny times i Report for Idle player or match manipulation/ inappropriate language all that stuff.

They do. They also investigate.

 

What we don't know is what's the the threshold for deciding that an alleged violation is actually a violation. We also don't know what consequences an actual violation will result in, or whether it matters if it's first or Nth time, borderline versus egregious.

 

As an extreme example, someone reported another player (and posted about it) for saying something like, "your DPS isn't up to snuff". You can imagine that some players agree that is "naming and shaming" and also recognize that ANet might not think it's a big deal.

 

In other words, just because you think a report is legit and sufficient doesn't mean that they do. And it's impossible for us to tell the difference between "they don't care" and "they don't agree."

A factor is that they don't spend much time (usually enough time) to come to the conclusion you did about any given incident. I would bet no action is a staggering majority of legit cases because of this.

From the Knowledge Base:

The Support Team _will not discuss the outcome_ of any player report. Each report is investigated by a Game Master, who will take the appropriate action if the report can be substantiated. The lack of a response does not mean there was no penalty for their behavior!

 

From the Guild Wars 2 Conduct Breaches and Outcomes:

All infraction reports from players are investigated, either through staff member observations or a review of game logs. Those who report a possible rules infraction by another player _may be given general information on the outcome_ of their report, but certain details may remain confidential.

Total non lawyer here: I don’t think those two statements are on conflict, but I agree that there is room for confusion.
