Bob bobington.9057
Exactly as it is in the title, have a Central Tyria Mastery under Pact Commander for about 12 or 15 Mastery Points for owners of PoF so we can get unident equipment instead of explicit drops globally from all drops and chests. jwaz.1908
Not sure what you mean by Unident. However a Central Tyria Mastery requiring PoF would be contradictory to the mastery design model, since they're organized by 'expansion' content. Head Kracker.4790
If I'm decoding what they want correctly is that they have a desire to only get unidentified gear as a global thing instead of only on POF or living story season 4 maps. Most likely in response that many greens and blues from older maps tend to clog up your inventory and become a hassle to deal with. They then want it so a mastery track could be done so that any drops you get in older maps would be unidentified gear so that newer player would have the old style of drops but that older players that have the mastery track open are able to get said unidentified drops and not waste as much space. Don't know if id like that admittedly. I like unident drops as much as the next person since they are a great inventory saver, but adding a Tyrian mastery to get pof style rewards seems odd. That and the fact that after a certain point its hard to get a lot of easy tyrian mastery points that Id find worth of. Yeah you can do fractals but I personally don't like that boat. Illconceived Was Na.9781
tl;dr even if it was simple to figure out how to implement the mastery idea, it is far from simple to introduce unID gear to HoT and Core areas. To turn HoT and Core loot into unidentified drops would require an extreme amount of adjustments to loot. You might have noticed that the mix of items in unID gear is specific to PoF; it's not generic to the game. So the more likely scenario would be to have 9 types of unID gear (instead of the current 3), from unidentified common PoF gear to unidentified uncommon HoT gear to unidentified rare Core gear. Then every foe in the rest of the game, every chest, every champ bag, every chest would have to be switched too. Then ANet would have to analyze the impact of removing all sub-L80 gear from all those sources — the way it works now, an L53 toon opening the champ bags from Thunderhead Peaks gets identical drops as an L80, except for the bloodstone dust, so that would need an economic review. In addition, the impact of MF on unID gear has had profound economic effects. Previously, there was no way to have sustained 900-1100 MF for farming, but it's not hard to maintain that for just identifying gear. That's resulted in many many more rares and exotics coming into the game, depressing those markets severely (even before the full impact of the Istani farming was upon us). Wouldn't you need even more types of unID gear than this, since core regions have unique drops? (e.g. Tribal weapons only drop in Maguuma.) Um. What's a hassle about "right-click Salvage-O-Matic, salv all masterwork or fine, right click gear icon, deposit all materials"?

Probabaly the fact that not everybody has a Salvage-O-Matic ;) Maybe it's time for a BLTC sale on savlage tools ! I'd love to have that implemented as well, but as stated above, the quantity of different loot tied to specific areas would complicate things a lot. One thing could be to separate generic loot from area specific loot, and use unid gear packs only for generic loot...
mtpelion.4562
That would be a lot of loot tables that would need to be manually updated with if/then/else code. While it would be nice, I doubt they'd be willing to sink that much time into it.

They have had a few already.
