Completing The Dragon reach part 2

Has anyone else had trouble completing the dragon reach part 2 ? I can not get past the battle with the shadow dragon, I die so many times my armor gets destroyed and have leave an start over the whole thing. dodging doesn't work because the whole area is covered by AOE damage. Any ideas on getting through this?

You don’t have to leave if your armour is destroyed. Just keep resurrecting and hitting the boss. It will die eventually.

 

Long range weapons help immensely in this fight. Also there are couple of places on the edges of the hall where AOEs don’t reach you. Check dulfy’s guide for achievements, she has some great tips.

Stand below where the dragon lands, jump occasionally and spam fire and forget AoE's when it gets tangled. It's a gimmick battle that is hard normally, but easy to cheese.

There is a corner where you stand in between the phases where you can hit the dragon.

Thank you all for tips and the youtube vid doesn't match my aoe there is a lot more aoe from the tendrals then in the video.

its becouse s/he kills them faster.
