Confused about LS4 requirement

Do we have to to do all chapters for LS4 to talk to gorrik in suns refuge to do the egg collection?

No you have to do the story of the one were the sunsrefuge is on season 4 episode 4 I belive it is.

 

Later collection you need to get in to other episdes for spots tho.

There's at least one location on each map that you need to reach.

FYI the maps are unlockable without doing all of the relevant story. Sometimes, the introduction is all you need (listen to dialogue); sometimes, you need to do a solid chunk of the story. None require full completion.

Suns Refuge is unlocked halfway thru LS4 EP4 A Star to Guide Us. You could complete the whole story, but for the next 2 Skyscale step's atleast immediately after the Egg collection, you only need to complete "Legacy" in A.S.T.G.U. to be able to talk to Gorrik in SR. Complete "Legacy", exit the instance and go back in to find Gorrik. This will be your spot for the next steps of the collection at least and the second step is timegated, so you could use those days to complete EP4 if you like.

You will go half way around the world, so the unlock of suns refuge was quite fast.
