The future of this game

Reckon we'll get another expansions or have they entirely abandoned that idea? We know there will be a LS season 5, but what about past it?

 

Imho the LS season content drip is pretty bad, there should already be a third expansion, or at least an announcement of such.

If there is going to be an expac after LS5 it'll probably be announced during or after the last episode of LS5.

As far as official statements: yes, Living World Season 5 is forthcoming, and no plans for another expansion have been announced.

I have no idea why OP, but Anet keeps it quite to themselves what they want to do with this game. No future plans are known right now.

We've got the Dragon Bash festival starting tomorrow and running until the 16th July and we'll probably get the Festival of the Four Winds after that, because that returned last year and I think it was supposed to be an annual event. Assuming it runs for the same amount of time that will go on until the 13th August.

 

If we assume that Season 5 will start the week after that, on 20th August and will have 6 episodes (same as Season 3 and 4, but less than Season 2) and that they'll be released 2 weeks apart like Season 2 was (S3 and 4 have had longer release periods) - in other words if we assume that Season 5 will be over as soon as possible - that takes us up to the 29th October. Then we've got Halloween (although more likely IMO they'd start Halloween on the 29th and delay the final episode until November). Then there's Wintersday in December. So between regular releases and the announcement of Season 5 we know what's coming until at least the start of 2020.

 

Realistically I think it's highly unlikely Season 5 will be released bi-weekly because that's the most demanding schedule Anet have ever had and I'd be surprised if they'd go back to it now. Monthly or bi-monthly seems more likely to me, which means it will be January 2020 or even July 2020 before Season 5 is finished.

 

So there's plenty of time for them to announce another expansion, or whatever else they want to do, after that.

This was nice but was just one post 3 months ago now. I really wish they would do this kind of thing monthly instead of when its direly necessary. Just something like this once a month would be really awesome;

To be honest, they don't need to announce an expansion just yet. My hope is that Season 5 will be different than Season 4 and will have a faster release cadence and more "meat".
