Eros.6801
Please if you want to voice out your frustrations keep it in one single thread, don't turn this forum into "Angry Birds Saga".

Similar mistake like blizzard did with diablo immortal. Technically it was the players that over-hyped it. Anet was upfront that it'd be just about the living story. Acting like a bunch of children because they didn't get what they wanted. Several exciting things were discussed, yet they cherry pick everything negative. Lovely. Blaeys.3102
The problem is that ArenaNet made the same marketing mistake they make pretty much every time we have something like this. If they had bothered to read even 1/2 of the speculation threads or participate in any discussions with customers, they would have seen that people were making more of this than it ended up being - and were, rightfully imo, disappointed. For the past month, people have been speculating about which elite specs were coming (pretty much assuming they were) and "hoping" for things like new races, templates (which are still coming "soon") and much more. Anet - stop acting like you are marketing a product in the early 80s. Your customers want to talk and engage with you. Even minimally paying attention to them would have shown you that what you did today was going to fall flat - because people had hyped themselves up (and for anyone blaming the players for that - no, this is solely on the devs for not paying attention). Part of this can definitely be attributed to losing Gaile, but I think, even if she had been there, management simply wouldn't have listened to what customers have been saying very clearly for a while now. Still love GW2 and am looking forward to the new content, but the higher level executives responsible for marketing this game and interacting with players have never been very good at it. This presentation was the just the most recent in a long line of disappointments on that front.
