New current events?

Will there ever be new current events or is that type of content abandonned? It would be fitting if the still running Joko current events (ls4, pof) would be exchanged with Icebrood Saga events. It gives the (core maps) open world at least a little living world feeling. Or was the name change to sagas also the end of a living world that had a semi return after being first abandoned after ls season 1.

It depends what that team is doing. The current events team was pretty small and was also the same team behind festivals and with some festivals getting some extra love (Dragon Bash as a new festival for example and we know Lunar is getting new stuff), current events would have been sidelined.

 

How the restructuring affected them we don't know.

 

Basically, we don't know anything about the future of CE., but focus on festivals and things like Boss Week filling those "between episodes" slots along with shorter gaps, might mean foreseeable sidelining

We never got much info on the current events even when they were being introduced regularly. Not only was there no info on what would be coming up, many were only hinted at in the patch notes and were hidden achievements which weren't visible until you started them.

 

If they do add more its likely to be the same: they won't tell us what's coming up, we'll just have to discover it once it's in the game. But I expect we will see more content like that at some point.

Didnt Anet say that the current event team got a big boost in numbers and are now the 4th living world team?

 

I think its those people who are behind Visions of the Past. Which is basically Current events boosted up to a full release.

The roadmap mentions the extra content involving charr. That seems to be just what you're asking for. They're responsible for content in between LW and expansion releases.
