Any pve and pvp build that is not with riffle or staff

Hi, Im pretty new to this game and Im wondering if there is any pve build that is not with a staff or riffle, Im pretty fan of classic thief as they use double dagger but I heard that the core thief is outclassed.

Pistol DE or DD.

Pistol has been made better for cleaving for PvE when Ankle Shots was reworked into Deadly Aim.

 

For PvP, D/P, S/D, S/P are still very popular and widely used.

For open world, for meme build I use condi [Deadeye](http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PagAgiD7wUsPcst2eZA-zRJYmRDfZEZCUZBYwA-e) a bit more bursty and self sustained than daredevil. Or double shortbow with daredevil, but since they nerfed the daze on schocking gas you lose a lot of torment and ¨Pulmonery Impact; so it's not very funny nor effective anymore. :'(
