Yes, I was there before posting. See my post above, but my mistake was typing "Shards" instead of "Shard" in the TP's search. When none came up, I assumed there were none to be had.
-
I have the emblems already, Strider. I was just checking out what could be done with them. I don't play PvP, but I do play WvW a bit, at least enough to gather the rest of the ingredients.
-
Thank you!
I had searched for them, but I searched for "Shards" rather than "Shard", so I couldn't find them. That makes it much more palatable (I don't play PvP and never will).
Thanks much!

One of the pieces needed for Conflux is Gift of Glory, which requires 250 Shards of Glory. As far as I can discern, these are only given in PvP.
Is this correct?

Oh yes, I have.

30 in a row getting only 25 of the gold junk? If accurate, that's way out of line, despite the statements of others above.
However, I have some doubts that you actually did that. For one thing, unless I'm mistaken, you always get at least two stacks of stuff (not full stacks, but two piles that are different). Can you post your exact drops?

Welcome to the community!
The level of toxicity is very low in open world. It's only in high-level content where there are problems, like dungeons, raids, etc. Stick around! I think you'll like the community.
-
Thanks, Ayrilana. I don't do raids, so that's probably out for me.
-
Thanks, Sobx. I knew about those pages. I was looking more for things a couple of layers deep into their usefulness. I scanned the pages two levels deep into the shards; that's how I found out about ingots. But who knows what might be lurking 3-5 levels deep?
-
The Aerodrome, eh? I'll check that out. Thank you!

Thank you very much for your comments!

ArenaNet: Are you ever going to give us a chance to complete the Ultra Shiny collection, by bringing back the event?
I know about buying djinn energy clusters. But the drop rate for essences and weapons is so low one would have to buy thousands of them, and there are less than ten thousand available. It's not a viable way to get them.
-
I have several thousand eternal ice shards. I would like to use them, but I'm not sure where to start. I know there are three weapon collections that require them, and that we can use them for eitrite ingots used for generic bags (which I don't need). NOTE: I've searched for and read other threads on the subject. This isn't a complaint; it's a how-to set of questions.
So, the question is:
**How do I start the weapon collections?**
In other words, **are there any things I have to do to "unlock" the ability to complete them?** Or, **are there things to do** (like events, masteries, and metas) **that are needed, or just useful, for other components of these weapons?**
Regarding other uses, I know about converting them to other map currencies (which I also don't need). Those can be converted to volatile magic (VM). I don't really need that, but there are a few minis I could still pick up. And, I know I can convert that to money and/or karma.
So the second question is:
**Are there any other uses besides the weapon collections, bags (via ingots), and VM?**

Unless you're leveling (which we only do once per account), it isn't going to happen. I think tier 4 should require 8-10 (or more), but the other tiers only 5-6 each (or less).

I do help people. A lot. But not nearly enough to fill out these requirements.
And, have you even tried to find PUGs at the lower tiers? I would have to spend hours just waiting for groups to get the tier 2 and 3 weeklies filled. Even during this special rush week it proved out of reach. Without the rush, I'm not sure if it would even be possible.

Yeah, but not in the Fractals subforum.
-
There are two major problems with the weekly fractal achievements.
First, there's no way to track which ones you've done. They need checkmarks like the other achievements that require a list of entries. I tried to get to the 12 tier 2 fractal's reward, but at 11 I realized there's no way to know which ones I have left to do.
Second, the requirements are too high for the lower tiers and too low for tier 4. It takes 2 days of doing daily fractals to get the reward for tier 4, but all week for tier 1. Unless you're leveling (which we only do once per account), it isn't going to happen. I think tier 4 should require 8-10 (or more), but the other tiers only 5-6 each (or less).
-
This made me give up completely on the weeklies, other than tier four. It's not worth the effort to create a spreadsheet to track the darned things.
-
Why on earth would anybody save them?
But, I agree that the rewards should happen regardless of whether you buy anything or not, and certainly if you buy one of the expensive ones (which means you had to save them for a while).
-
I tried 127 times for Rhendak's signet and received one. I tried 138 times for the Pendant of Arah, and also received one. I'm still tracking them, but I don't try as often anymore. Rhendak's is so buggy it's difficult to make valid attempts. (And, the game doesn't tell you if it is an invalid attempt; you have to figure it out on your own.)
-
I think those last three all win the prize. I was looking at the wrong day (due to midnight) and also at the wrong time (AM vs. PM).
I could only mark one as "the answer", but I gave the others both "Helpful".
Thank you all very much!

I just looked seconds ago. I'm in US central daylight time, which is UTC-5. The table says for 7:30 PM UTC-5 (which is now), it should be in Plains of Ashford. There are no red markers in that zone at this time.
So, yeah, I'm probably misinterpreting the table, but how?
-
I should clarify: I know what zone they're to appear in. After all, I linked the page with the table.
I want to know how to find the events once inside the proper zone. One of the bullets (on the page I linked) says there are red icons, but there were no red icons.
-
Those aren't very helpful. There's no Portal Peacemaker achievement to get the Phasic thing. And those notes tell nothing about them.

Am I correct that you MUST play PvP in order to craft Conflux?

I went there ("there" = "to that page") before posting. But, when I searched the TP looking for shards of glory, I couldn't find any, so I assumed there were none available.
