  1. @"STIHL.2489" As with all things, I will defend your right to say whatever you want within reason. And then, I will also allow society to punish you as consequence for those words. That's the real problem. People want to say whatever they want, but they don't want to suffer the outcome of those actions.

The sword called Freedom of Speech cuts both ways . . . as a certain lawyer in New York is now finding out.

  2. It's simple. If someone asks you not to use certain words or language around them, civilized and respectful people will do so when politely asked. Disrespectful people will call entire groups names, demand their right to say whatever they want, and then turn around and call others sensitive and snowflakes.

Please don't ask others to give you the right to say what you want and then ask them not to do the same for themselves.

It exists but tends toward legendary or unique armor or effects as seen in the first picture. Certain dyes can also give this effect like illumination. Juggernaut will also give a very metallic effect on armor as seen in the second image.

    Hope this helped.

    > Is that the US mapchat? Playing on EU, we do get the nutjobs every now and then, preaching whatever ideology is theirs but I have never seen ppl go on about it for hours or, as mentioned in the OP, copy/pasing scriptures into mapchat or trying to missionize the pvp lobby. o.O

Sadly, the U.S. political environment is in a dark place right now. And yes, that's quite common in a lot of game chats. They love to go on and on about their . . . ahem . . . leader. God help you if you trigger them. Then they _will_ talk for hours. It's pretty much why I have map chat disabled these days.

  5. If it's RP, then yes, it's allowed. For example, we see this discussed even with NPCs as far as the Searing and the Six. But as far as real-life politics and religion?

    You may not select an Account ID, Account Display Name, ArenaNet Message Board ID, Character ID and/or Team designation, or provide any communication or information on any Message Board, that ArenaNet, in its reasonable discretion, deems to be vulgar, threatening, racist, sexist or otherwise offensive, **including but not limited to references related to any religion or deity**;

While playing Guild Wars 2, you must respect the rights of others and their rights to play and enjoy the Game. To this end, you may not defraud, harass, threaten, embarrass or cause distress and/or unwanted attention to other players. This includes posting insulting, offensive, or abusive comments about players, **repeatedly sending unwanted messages**, reporting players maliciously, attacking a player based on race, sexual orientation, **religion**, heritage, etc. Hate speech is not tolerated.

As far as I can see, players can discuss politics so long as it doesn't harass players or cause strife. While I find such discussions in-game distasteful, and inflaming in chat, they are allowed within reason. However, sending another player repeated messages, for example, like, "Make America Great Again!" are not allowed.

    Hope this helped,

  6. What I found telling about this thread are the responses. Those responses that were helpful and professional showed why this community is awesome. And those opposed showed why we need a reporting system in the first place as far as pet names. Regardless, the question has been asked and answered.

@"DanAlcedo.3281" Yes, report the player. The moderators in-game look at everything. They'll decide what is or isn't appropriate within the rules.

    Peace.

  7. @"Just a flesh wound.3589" Very true. Some of the games I play allow for some very questionable names which I will not say here. If my children were underaged again, I would never let them play those games based on the player names alone. Let's not even talk about some of the chat talk I've seen in global.

  8. Being on the receiving end of condition damage, and especially since it bypasses toughness, I'll say condition damage. But please take my opinion with a grain of salt. I barely played the class, yet I do recognize how much more powerful condition damage is on me and mobs. :)

  9. Sadly, it's just a matter of time before the complaints rise to the level of another ranger pet nerf. Can't have any pet be dangerous in PvP. Hopefully, the nerf will only be in PvP, but I have my doubts.

    >

    > Who's to say the person with the supposed offensive name was *trying* to offend anyone or that the person who is reporting it isn't *trying* to find something to be offended by?

The multiple admissions in this thread alone kind of prove that point.

  11. @"DanAlcedo.3281" Ahem. Given recent admissions, I decided to test the 'Report Name' as well. Come to find out, you cannot name your guild, your character, nor your pet something along these lines listed below even if there's methodology to one's baiting and trolling of the community.

We do not permit names that:

Have offensive racial, ethnic, national, or cultural connotations

Include hate speech or bigoted slurs

Reference sexual acts or real-life violence

    Are pornographic

Make inappropriate references to human anatomy or bodily functions

    Reference illegal drugs or activities

    Reference religious or historical figures

    **Reference real-life people**

**Reference names of copyrighted or trademarked characters, materials, or products**

    Hope this answers your question.
