  1. Equal does not mean identical. Professions can already do what the others do.

Similarly, _nobody_ is "forced" into doing anything. Fixation on min-maxing over play style that does that, and even _that_ doesn't take away what is already there. Play your sneaky Stealth Thief when the meta says "Thieves heal". Play your smashy Warrior when the meta says "Banner B***!". Play the game; stop letting the game play you.

  2. First thing' first: do you have a Commander tag on? If so, turn it off. That should fix people following you around in-game.

(Sorry, got to cover the dumb stuff first.)

You absolutely can report players without chat or mail. Right-click their character name while targeting them to bring up the same dialog box as in chat. Simply select "Report Player" then fill out the report form as normal.

If you're being harassed through other media, that sounds like an account security issue and you should take it up with those service providers' privacy teams. If you feel you are being stalked by these players, contact local authorities immediately.

  3. I don't see much point to it, but if making your cat-beast look like a pumpkin or whatever makes you happy, then I'll support it.

Although, there are ~~Battle Cat~~ Warclaw skins very similar to the Mad Realm and Spooky sets in the latest License sets, perhaps check those out as well?

  4. Let me preface by saying: just because I think the Norn *could use* some tweaking doesn't mean they *must* or even *should* be tweaked. These are very different sentiments.

That being said: I'm all for visual updates, especially if they add more visibly distinct silhouettes between the species (something akin to the original Sylvari rework). Personally, I would love it if the Norn could incorporate their transformation abilities more into movement and combat (or at least combat anims), but that may be asking a lot.

  5. The only thing Race affects is your options for first Pet. You can rather easily "catch 'em all" as you adventure around Tyria.

I'm partial to the Charr's choices, personally, because I love my Salamander Drake, Chili. (so cute!)

If they can't make enough for everyone who wants to buy it, then they don't deserve your money. (It's called "artificial scarcity". They're using the illusion of rarity, preying on the FOMO phenomenon, to make you want the useless crap they're peddling and dramatically inflate the price.)

None of this applies to video games, since there are no longer physical copies.

People will do what people do. Boycott and protest are utterly meaningless to the hypocritical public, who enjoy being tricked and abused time and time again; who sacrifice themselves to grow the wealth of the wealthy.

Even if I am going to buy it, if I can tip Day 1 sales to outpace the preorder sales, then NCSoft might actually reevaluate garbage like this. With luck, they'll just put the things they make into the game, rather than deliberately removing it and and calling it "bonus".

  7. You probably don't remember, but in the years since Path of Fire, there was a push on the forums to "make content mean something". tl;dr: They wanted the various skills learned and unlocks achieved to be attached to questing, have their own stories, etc., etc. to make better use of the Mastery systems and drive engagement in expansion content. Folks were unhappy that their skills and abilities just happened, with no cause or reason.

    This is the result.

Crafting, combat, skills, mechanics... all is meant to be figured out by the player to fuel their feelings of accomplishment (or looked up on the various community forums, thus driving community interaction). The game doesn't tell you everything it has to offer, but it does *frequently* show that it offers more than it's telling, and how to figure them out.

    >

    > I would go as far as to claim you are the only one thinking it is "working as intended" when something is hidden or not even used as a built in feature in game. Too often is "working as intended" used as a lazy form of excuse from player that don't want things to change so other player also can use this knowledge or feature without having to be lucky enough to "discover" this.

    >

    > I read wiki a lot to learn how things work in game (as it is the only "formal" documentation for how this game work). Still I didn't know when you right click in the lower right section of screnn where have a reward chest from loot turning up that it would directly put all items into inventory instead of first open (move cursor to centre of screen) and then confirm through a click on a button. Doing this for every reward container is really not good ergonomic and take a lot of time when you need to open some of these for token or keys for the map event you are doing. FYI been playing this game before HoT was even published, so not a new player.

As someone who played since before launch, and figured these things out in *minutes*, not *months*, and didn't bother to explain it because everyone else had already done the same... Try celebrating your discoveries instead of lamenting your past ignorance, you'll have more fun.

Bonus: now that you *know* things are being hidden from you, maybe try harder to find them instead of waiting to be told what to do? The clues are there; always have been. You need only expand your perceptions.
