I am arguing for PvE/PvP split here. We are supposed to defeat NPC, so the "intended counter" logic should be applied only for the PvP.

Dagger mainhand is great versus mobs and veterans in open world because it is 2 targets, ranged self-heal to open with while running to target and have a barrier with Blood Bank, and immobilize to use on running away enemies like bandits and centaur archers.
Dagger offhand is also good at early levels to have a condi transfer until you get something else for that.
A friendly reminder: Anet is highly likely to know better than you.

There is a PvE/PvP split so putting it to 7 seconds in PvE only would trigger appreciation from PvE players while not triggering it's opposite from PvP'ers.

Currently it can be traited to do almost everything but. Having every utility at single button press would be brainundead friendly.

I am having fun (and pretty good results) with Bloody Scary Sucker build which incorporates all things bleeding, fear and vampiric.

Speaking of mobility, I find perma-plus 99% movespeed quite enough.

I tried Trickery, it does nothing except for providing teamfight with a few pretty meaningless boons.
I swapped back to Critical Strikes and now am reliably ninja-downing enemies pretty much every fight I +1 in.

When I was playing LoL we had 1:20 games (where 1 is a hour, not a minute as you likely thought) until the Surrender at 20 infestation hit. If you cannot fight for a hour without break then pardon me, you are a weakling.

Because it is rarely used to exactly retreat.
